Arizona House Bill 2625, authored by Majority Whip Debbie Lesko, R-Glendale, would permit employers to ask their employees for proof of medical prescription if they seek contraceptives for non-reproductive purposes, such as hormone control or acne treatment.

“I believe we live in America. We don’t live in the Soviet Union,” Lesko said. “So, government should not be telling the organizations or mom and pop employers to do something against their moral beliefs.”

Lesko said this bill responds to a contraceptive mandate in the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act signed into law March 2010.

“My whole legislation is about our First Amendment rights and freedom of religion,” Lesko said. “All my bill does is that an employer can opt out of the mandate if they have any religious objections.”

"America is suffering a pandemic of harm from pornography," Santorum's official website reads. "Pornography is toxic to marriages and relationships. It contributes to misogyny and violence against women. It is a contributing factor to prostitution and sex trafficking."

The former Pennsylvania senator states that, "as a parent, I am concerned about the widespread distribution of illegal obscene pornography and its profound effects on our culture."

Santorum criticized the Obama administration for turning "a blind eye ... to the scourge of pornography" and for refusing to enforce obscenity laws.

"If elected President, I will appoint an Attorney General who will do so," Santorum writes. "While the Obama Department of Justice seems to favor pornographers over children and families, that will change under a Santorum Administration."

Celeb Deaths

Haven’t seen an NBA thread so figured why not!

Big Laker fan, lived in LA when Shaq and Kobe dominated, and when it was Kobe and Pau. Not into American sports, football, hockey, baseball, even MLS, but the NBA can be pretty entertaining.
lakers had real momentum but that kills losing Luca and Reeves, season over. They were keeping me enthused with the dons being shit.

wemby vs Shay should be an NBA finals match up, don’t like the east west format, although with Tatum back the Celtics are pretty decent, as are Detroit is Cade comes back healthy.

Its an excellent journey round all 42 Scottish fitba grounds in one season. Detailing transport, pre-match venues for a pint, the quality of the pies at the ground, and a review of the performance of both the players and the fans. He goes into some depth in his report for each ground. Its rather witty too!

Be interesting to see how things pan out in Scotland but presumably given it is STV there won't be any councils where a party has overall control. Apparently heading for the lowest turnout in years up here but then you'd hardly know there was an election on where I stay. No posters or billboards and I only got one leaflet through my door which was Tory, which is bizarre given in my ward I'd imagine they'd do well to get even 4th on 1st preference never mind get anywhere near a seat.

Also glad to see that so far nobody has voted in favour of Mayors in various English cities. Total waste of time and money and nothing more than a celebrity driven ego trip (see B. Johnston and K. I like the forum, you get some good debates on it and I think it's ran very well, as opposed to AFC Chat where's... let's just say the posting style is a bit different.

Just wondering if there's some ways we can make it a bit busier here though? I've noticed a few regular posters go quiet recently too (although it is pre-season).

Personally, I'd say merge the Aberdeen & football sub-forums into one. Don't think they need to be separate. People would then see more active threads when they're browsing the forum.

Also, could whoever holds the Twitter keys maybe make a post advertising the forum that the rest of us could retweet? Garner a bit of interest?

We have always known that Balmedie was a white elephant and his claim that it would be the greatest course in the world was always completely laffable. It's not even the best course within 5 miles of there and there are numerous better in the NE let alone Scotland let alone the UK let alone Europe let alone the world. What he didn't factor in and we all knew was that you can't sell tickets for a minimum of 5 months out of 12. The haar comes in during peak times, July & August to wipe out some days and it's way too cold for tourists in the winter. Plus the price was so ridiculous he was never going to get locals to play it more than once, or occasionally twice or more if a freebie.

While I agree with all of the rest, plus you missed out that he didn't bargain for how long a course takes to be ready for play from new build in our climate, I take issue with how good the course is.

Let's forget Trump being a total erse, that's a given. And we'll move past best course in the world because again, that's a helluva tall order, and will always be subjective anyway, and obviously it isn't.

I honestly don't think even Royal Snoberdeen can beat it, far less anywhere else in the north east, he truly has built an astonishing layout.

And now we are trying to research it as a little project, maybe there is book or a pub guide to the old days in there. The last good pub guide came out in 1975. So if anybody can still remember their drinking days from the past, then post a message. So what are everyone's thoughts on how likely actual breakout of war in Eastern Europe is? Is this going to be the next flash point to create a regional war or will the West (and the rest) let Putin take Ukraine apart, bit by bit? Plenty of reasons why Putin is doing it, and he's never made any secret of wanting to bring back the USSR. Feel awful for the Ukrainians, they deserve their own country and are being used as a pawn by two former super powers. Hard to see it going to anything but conflict, Putin's ego wouldn't allow it. He's come too far now. Guess the next question would be, where / how does it stop?
