Said he’d be out a couple of months so will miss the league cup group games but might be back for start of season proper, though that might be a wee bit optimistic…
-
Was there any estimation as to how long Knoester would be out? First thoughts were it was a really bad one.

Watched the Haiti v Peru friendly from last night. Haiti again looked very fast on the counter attack and they gave the Peru back line no time at all on the ball. However they again struggled to defend corners and free kicks and lost two goals from corners in a 2-1 defeat. Usual caveat of friendly to be applied to the above.

6 foot 3 right sided CH - Mayo 6 foot 6 left sided CH - Happe Back-ups in Tobers (if finally fit) and Knoester unless we get a good offer in which case he could be away. Cheerio Milne & Molloy at CH. Proof of the pudding will be on the park of course, but its a resounding yes from the Moog jury so far in that Robinson has identified a glaring weakness (wasn’t hard tbf) and has has done something about it early doors. Just need Gogic back there now to complete the set…

Starting this one early, as I happened to watch the Haiti v Peru highlights from last night. Haiti weren't amazing, but they have pace on the counter attack. Isidor looks like a good player and Pierrot looks like a very good athlete. Both will cause us big problems, and I worry about Hanley in a back four when we're defending high up. I wonder if we might go back three instead? Defensively they weren't great, and their midfield could be passed through with ease. Gilmour would have been absolutely perfect for this game, and, to a lesser degree, Lennon Miller. Without those two, it'll almost certainly have to be McLean, who is by far our best option at slowing down counter attacks as well as moving it quickly forward. That means a decision to be made between McGinn, Christie, Doak, Curtis. Because of that, I'd expect us just to play one up front, so that we can get as many of the preferred players in. I'd much rather we played two, Dykes and Shankland, but I suspect it'll be just Adams on his own.
-
I'd argue that defenders from down South are generally a good fit for the SPFL. We've had some bad ones, of course, but we've had decent success too. Being 6ft6 is a very good start, and could be the defining starting point of the Robinson era. A very Robinson signing. The interesting part is that he's left footed. That suggests no room for Knoester, if we're going for a back four. That would be a boost for Milne, who could be allowed the space to develop alongside a guy who'll most likely target everything entering our box. We could very easily have opted for a right footed giant to accompany Knoester.
-
Hopefully he does the job for us, but signing players from the lower leagues in England worries me. We’ve been burnt too many times. It’s a bit uninspiring, I’d expect players to be going to the o’s rather than from them. But fingers crossed he brings some much needed leadership.
-
I mean. I’d expect us to sell more than say, Bournemouth or Brentford etc. But still, good that they’ve confidence and hopefully macron push some good quality gear our way.
-
Because it’ll make them richer. They don’t care about the actual implications of it.

Trump is down in the polls, he's continuously being shown to look like the thick, strange guy he is, the US military has been embarrassed under his watch, he's spent millions if not billions of taxpayers money on his vanity while average Americans experience a real struggle to live comfortably so why do politicians on the far right in the UK seem to think it's a good playbook to follow?

Chance to watch the other 2 World Cup group opponents on tv this weekend. Brazil v Egypt is on a 11pm tonight on ITvX and Morocco v Norway tomorrow at 8pm on ITV4.
-
Match night tonight at 9 pm when we play Bolivia. As usual, I don't mind if we lose as long as everyone makes it out the other side alive and well.

JD Vance should write to Donstalk to clarify

The real issue is whether it belongs in the crazy American politics thread or just the general politics thread.
-
Molloy is a decent back up but probably shouldn’t be a first pick. He’s useful as a back up LB in certain games where you don’t expect to be forcing the game and more likely to be defending

It’s working right now. The BNP policies of 30 years ago are now being labelled as legitimate concerns by a Labour government

And they think that'll work? It won't work? Right?

Don’t really care who our shirt manufacturer is but pretty sure Dundee and Motherwell have Macron and they’ve had some smart tops in recent years.

That is just so not like you......

It’s a tangled web but essentially it’s the same people doing the same things. None of it is especially clever but as long as you can say things like mutilization, trans for all, woke gone mad, liberal elites, muslamic ray guns etc, then the poor people will let you steal from them

Celtic have followed Aberdeen yet again by appointing the caretaker as permanent manager.
