  1. I think if Robson does well then he's in a no-lose situation. Either he gets the Aberdeen job permanently, or another club will pick him up. Hard to see Billy Dodds staying at Inverness beyond the end of the season for example. Robson an ex-player, it's still relatively close to the north-east. If he's not getting the Aberdeen job then that would be a plausible move. Or Dundee United if Goodwin doesn't stay. For Aberdeen, it means they have a manager in place now with the option to extend it. I would have preferred they had just made it permanent as there's still an uncertainty over the role, but it is what it is. Now go do enough to get the job permanently Robbo.

  2. “Born in England” is an incredibly simplistic viewpoint to take. We’re looking at players around 18-20 years of age, 18-20 years ago was probably the peak time for freedom of movement in Europe, you’ll have had Scottish parents working all over the place (including England) having kids. My own kids were born overseas and I don’t consider them to be anything other than Scottish. Anyway, if you’re that bothered about the purity of someone’s nationality, surely the origins of their blood is stronger than the geographical location of the hospital they happened to be born in? Unless they don’t sing the anthem loudly enough, then they should be strung up of course.

  3. Finally made it out on the mountain bike after probably nearly a year and a bit. All the stars aligned which meant I could make it to Makara which is west of Wellington. Good gruelling 1hr long ride up and then a good few decent down hills. Didn’t fall off this time (hadn’t done this track for 4 years). second pic is looking north east towards Wellington harbour.
