Good use of "initially". We really need him to be getting the job long term or we're screwed. If he came top in the interview process ahead of the other three candidates, then in my mind he should be offered the contract we'd have been looking to offer one of the others had they been the clear best candidate for the role. What we're effectively saying is that the other guys would have only been good enough to see us through until the summer. It's a gamble. I hope he does well.

Finally made it out on the mountain bike after probably nearly a year and a bit. All the stars aligned which meant I could make it to Makara which is west of Wellington. Good gruelling 1hr long ride up and then a good few decent down hills. Didn’t fall off this time (hadn’t done this track for 4 years). second pic is looking north east towards Wellington harbour.

Glen Esk - New playground for the next while.Myriad of paths and tracks for walking and cycling,fine views,very few folk around except if you head to the obvious spots(Loch Lee,Tarfside).
