Just back from Achiltibuie.Cooler than usual around 14oC,(been up at 26oC in the past),but dry and midge free. We have had the wettest summer on record here in NZ. You can see it on people's faces, everyone is just glum and fucked off now that its coming into winter. Not to mention the sheer amount of damage the country has seen from successive cyclones every 2 weeks. So I'm taking my sorry ass to Scotland and Ireland in July in search of a bit of sun Got two weddings to go to at either end of a 1 month holiday, one in Drogheda just outside Dublin, and then one up in Dornoch. Cannae wait to get "hame"

I hope we get some NEW far flung places to visit. I told my Vicar friend Chris (doesn't do football but loves my conversation about Aberdeen FC) who was awfully intrigued at how in the last ten years we've travelled to LAPLAND OFFICAL BIRTHPLACE OF SANTA CLAUS!, Adriatic Coast, war torn Bosnia, Silk Road, San Sebastian, Almaty (which isn't even really Europe being so close to Chinese border!), plus BLOODY BURNLEY! as well as having visits to more traditional cities like Riga, Groningen, Tetovo, Larnaca, Maribor, Reykjavik and Baku. I finished our chat with Chris by saying the following which got me thinking quite deeply; "I won't be going to any of these away games but will try my damnedest to make all four guaranteed Pittodrie matches. I'm just chuffed for the greatest club/supporters in the universe that'll they'll have something to remember in life for watching their team abroad no matter what the final results. What a way to see a bit of the world by following your footballing heroes around the globe like we have last decade."

Strange views dudes. The guy has scored 29 goals in 44 games but let's not sign him in case he might not score any next season? Was it not just a couple of seasons ago that most of our support were wanking off over Louis Moult, who at the same club managed 15 goals in his very best season?
