Miovski was past him and could have got a shot in. It was a deliberate pull back and would be a yellow most weeks. I agree that the player makes a meal of it. There were a couple of times prior when Rubezic was in a similar position and he let the player go, which is what their defender should have done here. Great to see Miovski taking them on though, he should do more of that.

Agree with Rico and Orlando on this. I honestly don’t think VAR has done anything to improve the game especially for those attending matches. Handball rule is an abomination that could only have only been invented by someone who has never played the game.

It's arguable whether it's better for the coefficient for Rangers to make the Champions League or drop to Europa. They and Celtic get four bonus points each for the coefficient if they're in the CL group stage. You don't get any bonus points for being in the Europa League. So Rangers would need to win two games (or one win and two draws say) in the Europa League just to equal those bonus points. They'd be in pot one, but they could still end up with a group of Real Betis, Brighton and Toulouse which they could easily finish bottom of with no wins. In truth, because there's no bonus points on offer in the Europa or Conference groups, you could argue it's better for the coefficient if Aberdeen lose to Hacken because we're more likely to win more points in the Conference. That all said, we should want Rangers to beat PSV. Not for the coefficient, but because if we're both in the Europa League then - as I explained earlier in the thread - it'll cost Aberdeen €1.5m in having to share the TV money with them.

I’ll give my two cents. Has var made the game better, no. We’re seeing penalties/goals given that wouldn’t be given, and aren’t even claimed for at times. Even the slightest of offside by a pube is now offside. I’d rather we just stuck with refs and training them to improve. Every game someone looks to var for assistance, that’s not always for the good of the game. I don’t think var has worked.

I enjoyed this World Cup but now already feel I've watched too much football and its only August!! I first saw a live women's game at Hampden in the 2012 Olympics and now see a huge difference in terms of skill and aggressive play. Apart from the penalties, some of them were shockers!! So glad Spain won and thank fuck we don't get a bank holiday Also who would want to be a goalie!! Will Sarina stay??
