didn’t see the whole game but lack of width stood out to me which meant way too much long or through the middle. Very predictable and easy to stop. i also think it’s another game we miss a ramadani type, just not enough graft, physicality, and influence in central areas to drive us on or break them down. The balance is off with Barron, McGrath, and clarkson much more flair but also more chance of inconsistency if the game isn’t for them. Plus they don’t really suit a long ball game and with minimal width it’s harder for them. Tonight needed more graft, presence, and drive.

Barron is basically first sub for his lack of contract signing. He wasn't playing well, but Clarkson was offering nothing in midfield, with Shinnie having to do all the work again. Hayes taken on to provide width in a four, only for Jensen to come on and change to a five so that Hayes has to play wing back again and stops getting forward.

Rooney had Hayes and McGinn and many others who laid things on a plate for him. Even then, Rooney would miss a chance before converting, much the same as Miovski does. In terms of chances missed, they both have excellent records. Miovski's all round game and movement are better. Rooney struggled in games against the Tims and European fixtures, where Bojan has offered something this season with his improvements over the summer.

He would have scored a lot more if he hadnt been chasing scraps the last couple of years,yet he's still on almost a goal every 2 games. A decent return considering. Lets see how he gets on if the new formation continues

Agreed and I would probably include McGarry in there unless we can convert him to a left winger as just don’t see a defender in there.

As soon as I hit submit. Hearts were better side in second half and probably deserved their win. VAR really needs punted though. Hearts given a penalty that even their own commentators said was for minimal contact. Every time the ball hit off someone in the box there was a VAR review. It’s killing the game.
