I don’t. I want to win a cup!

Fuck me! A bunch of pessimistic, psychiatrists and mind readers on here. Am I delighted by NW, no. Do I think it’s a publicity exercise or puss take, no. Do I think Warnock will take it seriously, yes. Do I think he’ll pick our best team (once he gets a chance to figure that out) yes. Do I think he has the capability to have a plan B, C, or D during games, yes. He’s a better chance for us finishing higher up the league than Barry, and if he puts his boot up Cormack’s arse (nothing to lose, no need to be a yes man) maybe that’s the best part of this appointment. I trust him to be professional (regardless of how he presents to the weejia) and do his best with us. Not a happy clapper by any means, but I’m not pissing in my nappy either!

Presumably he was giving as many players as he could a game to see what he's dealing with. Hopefully he's have learned (not exactly a mensa question) is that Morris, as you say, is really crap...in the first 5 mins he got the ball, skipped past his marker and then, instead of sprinting into the space he'd created, cantered because he's a playground fitba player...beat somebody, look at me I'm so good, take on someone else and lose the ball - his 2 efforts in the 2nd half when he was one-on-one with his marker and he headed for the bye-line but didn't actually get away from his marker so that his cross had to be hurried (see v. St Mirren); that Duk hasn't got it as a player (lucky the ref. didn't book him for his blatant dive which would have been a second yellow), that purple patch he had last season is as good as it's going to get. Wasn't at all impressed with Barron when he came on unfortunately as I thought he'd have started but I guess Warnock is giving him and Clarkson the chance to impress from the start/come on as sub as his main creative player. Doohan looked ok-ish but seemed in the same mould at Roos - punch rather that grab, stay on your line - at least he didn't once kick the ball into the of the stands. Jack MacKenzie continues to impress. Good to see Warnock leaves one up front when we're defending a corner (even though it was usually Morris) because it occupies at least 2 of their players. All of those on here of a religious persuasion (and the rest of us, just in case), please pray that Miovski doesn't get injured. We're in the next round of the cup and that's all you want, to be honest (tbh as you youngsters would type).

If he takes us up the league and ideally into Europe then there’s your benefit. We weren’t getting that with Robson and to try and repeat that process by giving Leven the gig as caretaker would actually be madness. The board - rightly or wrongly, we’ll know in a couple of months - feel Warnock is our best bet to achieve what we can from the rest of the season while they review the whole setup. We don’t know who else was interested so can’t judge whether he’s the man for the job until we see some results. That doesn’t seem like an outrageous way to go about things after the last three appointments to me. Warnock always seemed a wanker a few years ago but there are plenty examples of people in football who are wankers until they’re your wanker so I’m happy to see how the guy does before rushing to judgement.

How would hiring leven have benefitted us long term? getting pretty irritated by the constant moaning ffs. He’s not our permanent manager. Who would have been a good permanent managerial signing right now? Every single name out there has pros and cons. Lennon? Lambert? Ross? Or maybe kettlebell? Martindale? Robinson is doing a decent job. We missed out on Levein unfortunately but Derek Adam’s is available. Or maybe we go the foreign route with a guy with little or no Scottish football knowledge/experience? Would have hiring a permanent manager guaranteed us 3rd? 4th? After failing with the last 3 managers taking our time to look at this is ok with me. how exactly does warnock hurt us right now? What is the damage he is doing? What is he stopping us doing? Maybe can learn something from warnock? Maybe cormack will benefit from the insight of an incredibly experienced professional who has seen more than just Scottish football? im not really a warnock fan but having failed on the managerial front for the last 3, I’m ok with us taking a different approach, especially as ill keep saying, there are no clear standout popular choices to hire or desperate to come to us.

I dislike Warnock as a person especially when you look beyond the fluff pieces his pals in the press write about him. Also his record is actually not that great. His better results have been in lower leagues in England but even then he’s only ever won one league title and never won a cup. His top flight record in England is poor only winning 24% of of matches and getting sacked or relegated each time. I just don’t get why so many seem to think someone who spent vast majority of his career in lower leagues in England will suddenly be a winner in our league. His interviews remind me very much of the ones that got folk (including me at the time) wanting Strachen to be Scotland manager. They are funny at first but then become embarrassing. Lastly as Rico says above I can’t see where he fits with our supposed strategy. Just seems to be a waste of time and money.

Would love to see us win the cup but not sure how a lower league joker from England who’s never won the cup in his career is going to suddenly do that. With Tlg on this quicker this season is over and Warnock fucks off back to England with a pile of our money the better.
