I don't watch much women's football. But if it's anything like women's rugby, then there's very obvious differences in quality that comes from being immersed full time in the game. The lady women's rugby world cup made that glaringly obvious. Scotland have since turned pro and it is starting to pay dividends already, even though they're only 3 years into professionalism
Kilmarnock have every right to request a postponement, and I'm not against them doing so. Their reasons are valid.
It's the timing that's the issue. They should have made the request before the second leg with Tromso was played, and then an agreement could have been put in place in the event they won. Instead they've waited until three days after the game to come up with the idea.
Aberdeen will piss off a lot of their own fans if they agree to it now. You can't postpone it six days before the game.
Yep, they've lost their best players to full time teams and are playing against full time teams. It'll be interesting to see how they perform against the bottom six, part timers. The full time teams are just going to get further and further ahead I expect.
Would that be the Sociedad game that took place before the league season started?
Dons lost 3-2 on the Thursday then 3-0 the following sunday in the league opener with the arabs
I actually wouldn't be adverse to granting them it. The best thing to happen to Scottish football since the play offs came in has been 3rd place getting guaranteed group stage football but we do need teams to perform in Europe to keep it. It would be better for the coefficient to have 4 Scottish clubs in the the group stages than 3 even if it is a long shot.
Fuck right off Killie cunts
If you can't handle the demands, then don't play European football.
Don't remember them complaining when we came back from playing in Europe on a Thursday night and having to play them on the Sunday
I'm relatively ambivalent towards women's football but it does catch my attention from time to time. Mainly the Scotland team and then if I see a score update on some of the Dons socials then I'll check it out. Maybe helped by having two young daughters who play but I certainly don't have any ill will towards it and I find it more interesting than some of the guff that you'll find on BBC Sport, that's for sure.
Rico's point about trying to copy men's football is spot on. When Glasgow City were the top women's team it felt natural to hope that they do well. Now that Celtic and Rangers have their own teams who are doing well you can't help but want them to lose, which is a pity for the players but so be it. Glasgow City and other Scottish teams would be much easier to "support" without the rivalries that come from the men's game.
