  1. Hard to feel too much sympathy for the parents to be honest. If they had raised their kid better then Barron would have would have more about him, instead he stabbed the club and the city that raised him in the back.

  3. EPL and Champions League are rammed down our throats by the Aussie and Kiwi media, particularly the EPL. Here in NZ, sports headlines regularly get dominated by Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and whoever Chris Woods is playing for at the time. Go to any A-League game and, whilst you'll see a LOT of home tops, you will also see a wide sprinkling of tops from across Europe ... I wore my scotland top to the last Auckland FC game as it's the only blue sports top I own. But what I'm eventually getting at is football is "liked" over here. It's not loved like it is back home, and that's reflected in the crowds. It is still a pro sport in its infancy here, there's no "my father's father was a season ticket holder" situations yet, and whilst there is an element of die-hard fans who love going for a good ol sing-song, the majority "like football" and go along to games when it's fashionable to do so.

  4. I mean a lot of folk are euro snobs and look down on the league. The only thing that seems to attract them are big name players, which cost the league more and don’t actually bring much. It’s a very congested market, that’s for sure. They need to up their fan engagement though.

  5. I don’t know jimmy obviously, and less than all of you in Scotland. based on what I’ve read, and heard him say, the way he conducts relationships, his affection/care for the clubs he has managed etc, I think we have him for 3 years minimum. He’s also openly talked about this being a 3 year plan (initially.) it was clear he cared for elfsborg, he didn’t leave until the end of the season. He apparently told us the previous season we should hire Robson since he’s earned it. He cares about clubs, has morals, brings a ‘we’ and ‘family’ approach. I also think this approach is perfect for us, a family club. And I think what has happened here with him so far is special and far from guaranteed at every club. The fans and players appear to love him and vice cersa. Obviously he’ll approach each club he manages differently, but I don’t think his approach works for every club. it’s early doors and things can go to shit. Successful managers have been sacked the following season. I think for us we try our best to keep Peter leven happy, he made a very good impression on us and the team last season. Hopefully he learns the ins and outs of thelin and perhaps takes over if and when the time comes.
