  3. When this cunt gets named he's going to be hated as much in Aberdeen as Jack and Barron.

  4. As first seasons go it's been an odd one. First he breaks a record for best start ever by the club then goes on the longest without a win run in the clubs history. When we are on it we look a really good outfit but I've not felt this level of fear about crosses into the box since Clangers moved on. All in though, a cup semi,a cup final and euro football next season isn't too shabby as long as you don't dwell on what could have been. Regardless though every report from Sweden I heard (which was 3 or 4 to be clear) all said "you need to give this guy two years before you really see what one of his teams is all about". I've had that in my head all season and I'm not going to start judging him overall until spring 26. The problem I think we have at the moment is that gegenpress systems by their very nature operate on fine margins, particularly when it comes to defending. I'm no coach but best I can tell is that for these systems to work properly, whether it's in defence or attack, players need to be positioning themselves correctly as second nature which takes time to coach into them. This aligns with the "give him two years" advice 2bf. I will say this though, as some of you may remember I watched a good few Elfsborg games before Jimmy left and 100% that team could defend. The first game I saw was against Malmo where Elfsborg had about 20% possession in the 90 but won 3-1 and looked in complete control (I remember being genuinely shocked when I looked at the possession stats at the end given how the game had played out). With that in mind I am hopeful we will start to see the defence tighten up as next season progresses. If it doesn't though Thelin is fucked. I do agree a strong start to 25/26 isn't needed to keep Cormack on board but if we get into January and still really powderpuff at the back Thelin is going to need to start looking over his shoulder.

  5. Whenever you hear "Don't make it political" it's usually from a mental right-winger whose whole personality is being a mental right-winger. McInnes' policy of signing British and Irish players is all well and good. I understood why he did it but we were still getting smashed by the old firm regularly and more annoyingly (in my opinion) never trying to do anything against them. Jimmy has overseen a few hidings already but we take the game to them more which I'll always prefer. If you're going to go down you might as well go down swinging etc. I don't understand the issue with the players' nationalities. We had Considine for most of his career. A fine servant to our club. Spineless? I wouldn't describe him as such but 9 times out of 10 he came out second best against the better teams. Exposed for pace and a fair few red cards. Spineless? No. Just didn't have the quality required. Even though he wasn't foreign shite. I'm worried that McInnes might do quite well at Hearts. Although for their sake I hope he gets more out of Shankland (Scottish shite) for Hearts than he did for Aberdeen. Never a better example of a one season wonder!

  7. My first cup final, taken there by my dad. And this Saturday I’m taking my loon, aged 8, to his first cup final. The omens are good but we’ll probably keep the car engine running just in case.

  12. Most of the United fans on the pitch were just kids. Had the chair hit its intended target, could have been a lot worse. Singing about hating the Huns then proceeding to act like Huns. Gads.

  13. DU fans being on the pitch doesn't excuse our fans from ripping out a seat and throwing it onto the pitch. Had it hit a DU fan it would have been just as reprehensible and utterly stupid.

  14. That's fucking mental. There are a significant minority of absolute cunts in our support, and they show themselves when away from home. Does the local boozer still give out a box of 24 beers to any customer willing to pay? Reckon a bit more can be done pre-match in Dundee to weed out some of the worst fuckers. Hopefully the individual will be forced to watch the last four games on repeat, in a cell, for two years.

  15. Aye, I hadn't considered that. In all honesty, they'd probably enjoy getting the plague. Imagine the victim story that they could build out of that?

  17. Nah, that's bollocks Al. OD had plenty of time to drop out of this one, but he didn't. He doesn't get it, which is fine. For the avoidance of doubt: Spineless black shite = racism Spineless Jewish shite = antisemitism Spineless gay shite = homophobia Spineless foreign shite = xenophobia It's fairly fucking straightforward. If the OP had couched it in language such as "strangers in their own team", then that'd be fine, of course.

  19. Way off topic lads but before thread hopefully goes back to it purpose of laughing at the Gorgie Huns I would say only reason we need Scottish players is the rules to play in Europe. Outside that as long as a player is good enough then it doesn’t matter where they come from and to claim you need a core of Scottish players to succeed is plainly wrong.

  20. Because I was replying to a comment that said we've signed "spineless foreign shite", and you entered the discussion listing Scottish players. So that's the relevance, unless you're changing the subject. But we're not though, are we? We had seven UK & Irish based players involved today. We lost to a team who played only six. The champions will likely start the cup final with just two Scots in their team. Hibs, who will likely finish third, started only four Scots yesterday (one of which is an Australian international), they're hardly a team full of home-born players either. Six of our starting line-up today have played in Scotland before this season and should meet your 'knowledge of Scottish football' criteria. Three of the subs meet that too. We're also not in July, we're in May. Thelin and his back room team know all about Rangers having played them four times. So what's your point here, that Scottish or UK signings would be better? You've just cherry picked some names that may not be good enough, in order to make what point? I could list UK and Irish players who aren't good enough either. This is the guy you've been championing isn't it? That we absolutely had to sign? Dundee United signed him, and he's been extremely poor. Here's the views of Dundee United fans... Sigh. No-one is offended.

  21. The bit I quoted. Firstly, we took regular humpings off Rangers and Celtic under McInnes. Secondly, "spineless foreign shite". Even ignoring your backwards xenophobia, I'm not sure that's usually how Scandinavians are perceived, and I wouldn't say Mitov, Tobers or Knoester fall into that category either.
