  1. I read on here regularly but it's years since I posted. Anyway, one of the best Dons' days I've had, greetin' at the actual game along with a few other oldies and still buzzing. What a support and great to see that mainly comprising teens and kids. I hope they get to see a few more days like that, I'm so grateful that I have.

  2. Haven’t posted about Saturday until now as I don’t think I could get my head around it. An incredible day with an incredible performance by the entire team. And a tactical masterclass from Jimmy. It was clear from the start that the plan was to sit in and deny them space in the final third and other than one lucky break it worked a treat. The subs were spot on and totally changed the flow of the game, to the extent where we created the better chances in extra time. The composure of the boys on the penalties was first class and what can you say about Mitov? Absolutely brilliant gesture from him at the end of the lap of honour, giving his gloves to a young lad who had a flag with Mitov’s name on it on show all afternoon. A hero amongst heroes. I was just about to turn 10 in 1990 and Saturday was my 10yo’s first cup final, which really did make the day even more special. I’ve warned her she might be approaching middle age by the next time we win one but let’s hope not!

  4. This thread should be pinned imo instead of that Arabs v Dons one, which should be allowed to drift down the forum and never posted in again.

  6. Fair play to the BBC that was a quality listen that not even Paddy Bonner could ruin (all joking aside in fairness I heard him saying today was all about Aberdeen) Like Rico, haven't commented too much on Saturday's events and agree absolutely no failures in our team, they all played their part. In our stands the support were amazing and never stopped the entire 120+ minutes of play. I as most of you will be aware have been fortunate to witness all bar one of our eight Scottish Cup victories and I can assure you there has never been one quite like that. Special for me after all these years to have my 30 year old son by my side, both of us like so many others in a flood of tears. Lastly on a personal note I got married thirteen days after the 1990 and I had said to the wife, that if we lost on Saturday her time was up and she would be getting divorce papers served as she was patently a jinx Happy to say, thirty five years of hurt gone and marriage saved

  7. Surely not being James McGarry is the best an Aussie footballer can get.

  8. I don't think I've ever seen him in a mood other than 'miserable prick'.

  9. Don't be ridiculous. It's not even a planet, just a big projector image that they chuck up every night. Moon, my arse.

  11. I watch most of Aaron's vlogs, they're bloody good. He's amassing a fair collection of player shirts now too

  13. Even if they just need me for one game to absolutely nail Connor Barron, that'd be fine. I'd likely break my own legs in the process, but they've had a good run.

  14. Aye, I just found it exhausting! I noticed that the shiteshow down South had games on yesterday. I don't know/care when they moved it, but not having the FA cup final on the last day is absolutely rank. Talk about devaluing the competition. I couldn't imagine having the weekend we just had, and then heading to Paisley (or wherever) next weekend for a league match. Anyway, that is just one of the many reasons that English football is for cunts.

  16. Fantastic. Unforgettable. Great to hear Shinnie too. Legs have gone, never a leader etc etc. Get it up yis, anyone who ever spouted that trite, cliched pish. First up for the pens, and smashes it in the top corner. Proper fucking captain. Not said much on the game since Saturday, it was too unbelievable, but we were immense to a man. Even lads like Keskinen, who didn't have a great game, Nisbet too, worked their arses off. Devlin was fucking ace (and I was so pleased to see him playing left back instead of Jensen - who was brilliant on Maeda - as he keeps things simple and is relentless in marking his man), as were the rest of the back line, especially top Dandy: Milne. Was surprised when Clarkson came off, but Palaversa worked his arse off. Every change was spot on from Thelin, and at the right time. Polvara coming on to play out of position, Tobers did well, MacKenzie solid and positionally excellent, and Gueye and Dabbagh ran themselves into the ground and challenged for everything. Thon Morris lad did alright too. Was sitting next to Brian Irvine, and he looked fairly nervous before the pens! I was certain we were winning it when it went into pens. Our keeper was/is miles better, with Schmeichel looking tiny in the goals, comparitively. I don't really care about next season now. A much needed break from fitba.

  17. A bizarre, bizarre season but what a fucking magical way to end it. Credit to Thelin, and fucking jealous of every single dandy who made it along. What a time to be alive! also, fuck me, those penalties were bloody magic. Each and every one of them. Baws of steel. LOVE IT. Happy fucking Saturday dons fans, fucking love it ️ that mitov interview on sportsound was magic. I doubt it’ll make through the edits

  18. Holy shit, we actually did it. With about 15 minutes to go I accepted we weren't going to win it. Couldn't see a goal coming, but was weirdly calm about it. Team had defended well apart from the goal, hadn't been embarrassed like everyone expected, but I just thought we didn't have enough to topple Celtic. And then we only went and fucking equalised, looked like we might even sneak a late winner, had huge chances in extra-time and looked a different team. The moment Maeda was one-on-one and Mitov saved, you felt the luck we never seem to have at Hampden against Celtic had finally arrived. Maybe luck the wrong word - more that you need the big moments to go your way and that was a sliding doors moment right there. Even penalties, I kept thinking it's the same end (different stadium I know) that we beat Caley and it'd go well for us. I fully expected that first penalty to be saved, was such an odd feeling, was like I was watching the 2014 League Cup final again. I went past Celtic Park on my way home, couldn't resist it. They were dismantling the stage they had built to welcome back the treble winners. Party cancelled, and strangely just pockets of Celtic fans wandering about, almost like they were unable to accept they had lost. Stayed sober today but I certainly won't be finishing it in that state.
