  1. Not long in from that, it's good to have a season book again but it would be nice to see us get a goal at some point let alone a win. Falkirk were stodgy and surprisingly fond of falling over too. We weren't awful with 11 men and I think we would have taken it had 11 stayed on the park. Very harsh red on Devlin, just watched it back there. He barely touched him and was focused completely on the ball, if this is how the game is going we would be as well just making it a non contact sport now and getting it over with. The ref was awful in general quite frankly and looked completely out of his depth. I do take some positives though. Firstly we defo seem to be getting a lot better with aerial balls into the box which has been a problem for ages and just improving defensively in general. Knoester coming back in has helped but credit has to go to Jack Milne who is making that RCB position his at the moment. I liked the look of Lazetic, my main first impression was he looks to have good feet and very keen to get involved. That was about it though, everything else on show was varying degrees of disappointing. It's also worth noting we have been limping by at LB where every game played so far someone has been shoehorned into the position. Personally I think this is one of the biggest reasons we are looking a bit impotent going forward as fb's are so key to how we try to attack. Hopefully Gyamfi will return to training over the international window and we now have backup in Frame too so fingers crossed no more Molloy or Devlin at left back. Am I worried? Not yet and 2bh I don't think there's any point in being so as the die is cast and we are very much in a "trust the process" scenario which the chairman has bought into. In the big interview after the cup final he was talking about how Jimmy was hired on the understanding it would be a 3 year 'project' and how not winning the cup would have made sod all difference to his commitment to it. When we appointed Thelin I heard/read multiple Swedish journalists say "you need to give this guy 2 seasons before you see what his teams are all about" and when you dive into the numbers at Elfsborg over Thelins first few seasons you soon see why. They really didn't start putting results together consistently until the last few months of season 2. Season 3 they really took off and were successful until he joined us but for quite a while in those first two seasons it would appear the Elfsbog fans wanted rid in great numbers. My feeling is we are probably going to have to endure some struggles in the first half of this season, especially with the demands of europe though I think the extra games will be good for squad gelling in the bigger picture, but I think/hope we will really kick on in the second half of the season.

  2. Tomorrow is a huge day for us. There's a lot riding on any signings we make. I said at the end of last season that I was glad that we didn't make European group stage football, as we were nowhere near ready for it. Unfortunately our cup triumph scuppered that! Eight extra games before Christmas is ridiculous, and we could see today the toll that is going to take. We don't have the depth in quality, and we're nowhere near it either. Midfielder has to be the priority, and we have to be looking at someone mid to late twenties. With Sokler away, we could be doing with someone quick through the middle. Neither Milanovic or Keskinen are actually that quick, so someone to replace Morris (unless Bilalovic is rapid, it was difficult to tell, but he might be). The midfielder is a must, with the other two just a hope. It'll be difficult, and I suspect we might be way down our list already. There'll be a lot of crossed fingers within Pittodrie that Lazetic and Bilalovic meet the standard (I think they will). Overall though, regardless of what happens tomorrow, I think the squad building has been pretty awful. For at least the last four seasons. The complete lack of balance is frustrating. Minimal internal youth progression, no proven players that are relatively risk free from the SPFL, no proven players in the midst of their career from elsewhere, no Scottish players. With Morris gone, there is no longer a player that can single handedly allow us to change approach, and it doesn't really seem like our system changes offer too much in the way of actual change (because our players - in their respective positions - are very similar). Cormack's strategy of going for project players has worked in some senses, but it hasn't returned a particularly good team, and it's exceptionally transient in design. I don't think it's working.

  3. What are you talking about? If we've learned anything over the Miovski affair, it's that tweets mean everything.

  4. Woah, woah, woah there. Let’s not confuse my dislike of Cosgrove now he’s signed for Auckland

  5. There is no comparison between what Snelders did and what the dirty Judas Hun cunt Miovski has now done. They shouldn't be uttered in the same breath.

  6. Bit harsh, thought falkirk were decent. They didn’t come to sit in, plus built out the back quite well. They do what we can’t, they advance the ball from defense to midfielders (central) who move the ball up field. Far too often we’re sideways and backwards then long ball. topi and milanovic were aggressive first half and both had scoring chances. Where they fail is they don’t blow by the full back (like morris would) so always seemed to be under pressure. Polvara was non existent and we really lacked the presence of a 10 first half. Topi also reminds me a bit of duk, low footie IQ and not much of a team player. said it before, until we have a 9 who can combine with the other attacking three we’ll struggle, although thought lazetic looks intriguing. A good two weeks training, plus hopefully a commanding and mobile, and experienced central mid, will help. was thinking at one point today how young and inexperienced we are, and Scottish fibs requires street smarts and experience. Our front 4 are lazetic milanovic adil, and topi, with potentially clarkson deep. We must have a mobile old head leading the way from both center midfield balance and central defense. I worry we’re far too young, naive, and soft, especially with Delvin shinnie and sivert bit part players

  7. He’s on the bench so fit enough, let’s see lazetic, yengi had chances but doesn’t look a footballer. Shinnie at left back too as he’ll get forward. Prob polvara off, didnt take the opportunity.

  8. I don’t see it as a red at all, going in hard to win the ball and has to hit the ball 30 plus yards which requires a follow through. Not even a foul if you ask me.

  9. This ref is a clown. Spoiling the game.

  10. Results from yesterday’s games. In usual SFA style one of the results above is wrong Dunbar United lost 4-2 to Cumnock after being 2-0 up. Wigtown v Camelon was postponed after a Camelon player collapsed with a suspected heart attack before the game. He had to be given CPR on the pitch and is now recovering in hodpital. Surprise of the round for me was Invergordon of North Caledonian league beating Dunipace of East of Scotland Premier league. Dunipace have started league well winning 5 out of first 6 and would have expected them to easily beat even best team in North Caledonian league.

  11. Wasn’t a legend by any stretch of the imagination, but we bought into him and he goes and does that. Football is football, and on that basis, I hope the rat gets broken

  13. Hope he gets injured quickly. Dirty cunt. Wonder if he'll be in tears when he eventually leaves Ibrox? As others have said, probably, wouldn't really minded if it was someone like McGrath who just picked up a wage, acted very professionally and worked hard, without any playing to the fans or showing any real affection for the club. Miovski very much gave it the "club has a massive place in my heart" type shite the entire time he was here, and after leaving. If big Ash knows what it means to be a Dandy, then Miovski can't claim anything was lost in translation. It won't be long before he's talking up how great it was to play at Ibrox with the Dons and how he'd dreamed about playing there. Fucking cunt.

  14. I’m not naive enough to think he never would, although I don’t think he ever would directly from us. I genuinely thought he’d kick on from us in all honesty that he wouldn’t even need to come back to Scotland. Regardless, it’s shite thinking that the huns will have one of our most popular players in recent times. And they will love it. That’s probably the worst part of it. Didn’t really care about the last 3 rats, but this, this I care about.
