  1. I'm confused by this. We put all of our effort into the league to qualify for Europe, but then once we succeed we avoid putting effort into those hard-won European games, so that we can focus all of our effort into the league so we can...qualify for Europe?

  2. Oh the grand old Duke of York He had 10,000 men He also had some younger girls but he couldn't remember them Then he went up and up Then he went down and down It doesn't matter what he done Cos he's part of the crown Oh the grand old duke of York He had 12 million quid He paid a girl the 12 million quid for something he never did

  3. I said to people at the end of the season that if we didn't do something about the way we set up our midfield we were pretty much guaranteed to continue our horrendous run of form this season. What worries me most is that Jimmy either can't see it or, unfathomably, is unwilling to address it which leaves us exposed and vulnerable in the middle of the park. Recent games have given me no comfort that he is willing to address what, to me, is a glaring issue.

  4. Because I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that Epstein would have had all the evidence he needed to bury every sex offender he ever entertained/supplied. He was also a man of significant means and, if his client list is as stacked with the worlds elite as has been made out, could absolutely make sure that in the event of his untimely death all the evidence is still released and they would burn along with him. As such the fact that nothing like that has come out since his death does make me wonder if his death was faked. You could argue it was far less risky for Epsteins clients to just get him out of the way whilst keeping him sweet. For people of that level of power it wouldn't be that difficult.

  5. Given the context of the season so far that would be a hoor of a big risk to be taking but it could perhaps explain why he looked so happy after the game (according to SS anyway). Grinding out a result when you're playing shit is not to be sniffed at but if you have to that at Killie away something has gone wrong if you ask me.

  6. The only thing I can think of is that he wanted to teach them a lesson! About what it takes to fight for a win, even if you're out on her airse. Agree about Karlsson, he was like man down, and likely to make a poor decision in those circumstances too.

  7. Last 25 minutes we looked burst against Killie too. I think the key point is Thelin needs to manage fatigue in the squad a bit better. E.g I appreciate Karlsson has taken a step down to come to Aberdeen but that doesn't mean he can't be subbed from time to time. He defo looked burst come 75 minutes at rugby park and should have been replaced. It's not like we don't have options for the wide attacking positions and fresh legs would have helped us get up the park a bit more instead of being so hemmed in. It really was quite shocking only one sub was made in that game and I've no idea what Thelin was thinking.

  8. Would love to see him get himself to a level where he could contend for the national team again. When he came through at Aberdeen I thought he was a cert to make the RB position his own at international level. Hickey was still playing left back at the time I think and the shirt looks to be his but he's a player that hasn't been the luckiest with injury either.

  9. I don't think the European games are affecting us this season. I don't think there's been a game where you say "if it wasn't for the midweek European game we'd have won that". Yeah, we looked a bit knackered v Hibs, but they just outplayed us and tactically we got it wrong. I'd say we'll take more positives than negatives from the experience. The money, that it's attracted players to the club, players and manager gain experience from it. I think Shaktar gave us much needed confidence when we badly needed it, and when the players are maybe struggling mentally it's not a bad thing to be flying off to Greece and Cyprus for a change of scenery.

  10. I spent four months in Ayia Napa just out of uni getting pissed every night, I wasn't paying much attention to historical events (much like my career ). I did travel out to the museum though which was an eye opener, and then at that time you could pay one euro to hire a telescope and look into the city. My folks did live there for a few years though (thankfully, not when I was there ) and they often went "on holiday" to the Turkish side. No idea what their views on the whole thing are, I'll raise it at Christmas dinner.

  12. I'm guessing you, having lived and worked in the South, have bought into the the Greeks version of events? If not ignore me. Fuck the Greek Cyps... Cross into Lefkosa (Nicosia) at the Metehan gate, you can go to the marketplace and still see the bullet holes where Turkish Cypriots were lined up and shot, you can even go and wander around in the ruins of Roman Villas. There's no protection as the Greek Lobby won't let any archaeologists examine the sites (if they want to do any work in Greece ever again). You can still go to Gazimagusa (Famagusta), the beautiful sandy beaches outside the town are the real reason the Greeks want the North "back", along with the pan-handle. Let's face it, there is as much land in the South that was owned by Turkish Cyps as there is land in the North owned by Greek Cyps. If only the Greeks would tell the Turkish Cyps where the mass graves are, where entire villages of men were kidnapped from their homes shot and buried in what can only be described as an ethnic cleansing genocide by the Greeks. Like most things North>South

  15. We can beat hearts, if we play it like the cup final. but rather than one lone striker, stick Nisbet and Lazetic up front. From what I saw of his play last night, he reminds me of a certain Duncan Shearer, but he needs a partner to play the ball to if he is being used as the target man. ** Not been online much recently as struggling with these symptoms and a few days ago had a tooth (attempted to be removed) partially removed, root still inside my gum which is causing horrendous settling down pain. So dozing myself with codine. Really wish I had some morphine, least i can talk to the Elephant on the unicycle.

  18. Obviously, the sell on fee will be long gone, but I do hope he makes it. Still probably the best young player I've seen coming through (Jess aside) for us. His touch, ability to make space, play with his head up and passing were just sensational. Really could have gone all the way, so hope he manages to get at least some of the way once his body sorts itself out.
