Rico has approved this Here’s the very first limerick from Radiored (the master of the gemme) which was dedicated to Cosgrove A useless big laddie called Sam Like a ham sannie devoid o' the ham But at penalty kicks, Wi a smirk 'tween eez chicks, made the keeper feel like a right bam And the final offering from Swaddon The Dons have been battered in Greece Which fair made me choke on my piece Our players are sh*te Yes, you hear me right Maist of the c*nts are nae eese3 points

First and foremost, congrats and well done to all for absolutely shitfesting another 3 points. The new found ability to grind out wins is very welcome, but it’s obviously not sustainable long term. Second half much better and the subs had a positive impact this time so credit for that. Defence very good again today, they are becoming a pretty solid unit. Aouchiche was excellent today. Worked really hard and used the ball well. Didn’t deserve to come off at all. Credit to Shinnie for the goal, excellent work and didn’t give up on it. Good ball in fae Topi and nice header fae Devlin. Lots of the old failings still there though, especially the complete failure to be able to pass and retain the ball - honestly its just ridiculous how often and how easily we give it away. Got to be happy with another 3 points though, but we all know this team needs a lot of work on it yet…2 points

Well, I'll give Thelin some credit. He inverted the wing backs more in the second half which meant we were not as overrun in the midfield. It allowed Aouchiche to find space to pick passes, which also brought the likes of Armstrong and Karlsson more into the game (even if the latter at times was a waste of a shirt). But again, it's individuals that have won us the game rather than what we were doing as a team. The goal is Shinnie refusing to give up on the ball, and Keskinen doing what Karlsson doesn't do and looking up to pick out a teammate. And the first half was unforgivable. A better team than Livingston have that game won by half-time.2 points

No clue what shinnie offers now. Gets burned for pace every time at the back, and doesn’t have the pace to attack. Getting caught regularly on both instances. why aren’t we subbing?1 point

Nice of the rest of the league to hang around and wait on us to catch up, like the fat kid on the shit bike - if we win we will be back to 5 points off 3rd with a game in hand over most of the teams above us. Not that this will happen, judging by our play so far.1 point

Aberdeen have just tweeted saying "0-0 as we search for an opener". Really disappointing to see the club account lying to the fans, because at no point today have we done anything of the sort.1 point

I think I've only been to Livingston away once too; a boring 0-0, and all I remember of it was the birth of the Leon Mike song. But like @JuteI do enjoy the two shopping centres next each other. @tlg1903 I thought it was a four at the back when I first saw the line up too, but I think it might be Shinnie at LWB. Aouchiche playing deep alongside Nilsen. I think he's resting Jensen with a view to starting him on Wednesday and resting Lobban.1 point

Interesting. We played a 4-3-3 for part of the game on Thursday, so wouldn't be surprised to see it again. However, in my opinion it needs to be 4-2-3-1. Of course, it's probably going to be a back three, with Shinnie at wing back.1 point

I am going to need to check this out. It really is going to be interesting to see what effect he has on the club.1 point

Ah - my mistake. Thought I was making a cultural faux pas by rehashing AbMad tropes!! You know, the snake mountain/Moncler/buttery type debates. That said, the lack of a limerick thread is making me a wee bit nostalgic for the completely dysfunctional site that AbMad became!1 point

I don't think he's fixed anything from a month ago, despite the relatively positive results. Defensively I'm not sure we have really improved. I think we just have an extra man in there which means by default second balls in our own box are more likely to fall to a red shirt. Midfield - no improvement. Up front is the same. When Thelin first came in, the first thing I noticed was how well we passed the ball in little triangles. We'd play our way out of trouble. It's clearly something worked on every week in training and even now we still look confident in small pockets of space, and our touch and control is generally good. However, that's it. There's no real substance there. I don't see a game plan. I expected us to play long ball, or "long pass" the Swedes describe his play. It was supposed to be quick transitions, soak up pressure and counter. Elfsborg were comfortable without the ball, but would jockey the opposition into areas they couldn't hurt them. None of that describes how we play. It almost seems like we're getting away with things because we do have good individuals (not to be confused with having a good team). In Thelin's post match interviews he talks a good game, identifies all the things we're not good at. But I don't see any evidence of him ever fixing these issues.1 point
