  2. It’s early December, the club are at least 6 weeks away from identifying last minute panic signings.

  3. Just back home from The Skids gig. My kind of gig, finished at 9:45. Us rock n rollers. An excellent gig. Richard Jobson came across very well as a front man and gave a little history about the songs played and took the piss out of himself. The band were excellent too. No idea if the bassist was the original one, looked about the right age. Their young guitarist was very good. Stuart Adamson, as a guitarist left big shoes to fill, but the lad filled them well. Amazing how much young folk go to these gigs of bands from yesteryear. I suppose kids don't really have much music scenes to get into now. It's all very safe and sanitised for. the most part. I was too young for The Skids first time around, bar the ones in my pants, but got into all that late 70s early 80s music by having considerably older brothers and sisters who were well into music of all sorts. With Aberdeen winning too, it's been a good day.

    VAR

Ah wis thinkin, maybe if VAR and the ref canna mak a decision within 60 seconds, then it could be decided by haein the captain o' each team play 'rock, paper, scissors ... best oot o' three. Would at least be entertainin'. ..... But then Ah thought, this would in itself need tae be refereed ... an' nae doot there would be calls for VAR tae check that said captains were nae cheatin' ..... takin' 4 minutes tae confirm or overturn the rock, paper, scissors result

  12. First two games in Boston/Foxborough and the third one in Miami. 2am kick off for the first one and 11pm for the other two. Rubbish times. Worse world cup than Qatar for TV watching.

  13. Wonder how much credit is due to the arrival of the Penguin, the upturn in team attitude seems to have coincided with him coming in.

  22. Shinnie deserves a place in Aberdeen club history. A trophy winning proud Aberdeen for the jersey guy. Love the way he plays and delighted when he played for Scotland, more than deserved. Gutted when he left and delighted when he came back. At the same time, he’s on the decline and more and more people are holding him in less regard. I did criticize him last week, think he struggles at times now, but he will always be legendary shinnie. funny, I never rated considine and didn’t care for him much at all, but so many/the majority treat him with legendary status.

  23. That's a relief, because I wouldn't want us to face Ronaldo, Rivaldo or Bebeto again.

  24. Bin VAR. it’s a no brainer. Who actually wants it?

  25. That's just as shite as VAR itself and solves nothing. Clear and obvious isn't defined by a time limit (because it cannot be defined by boundary). The first time the VAR cunts missed an incident that one of the scum was adamant was clear and obvious, but they couldn't get the camera angles in time, they'd change your arbitrary 20 seconds to 30 seconds, and so on. They'd rush to make a decision like last night's handball and just say it was handball because it hit the player's hand, and it's much, much quicker to spot handball, or "contact" rather than attempt to determine whether a foul has actually been committed. To be honest, it's one of the most cringey versions of VAR anyone could possibly think of. Imagine us all, sitting on the edge of our seats after every goal, perhaps counting down the 20 seconds with big grins on our faces, awaiting the result of our newly manufactured excitement. The players might do a huddle, Sky will give us a quick word from the VAR sponsors. As for most VAR calls, last night I sat in my seat with any excitement draining by the second. I genuinely couldn't have given a fuck what the outcome of any of the calls was by the time they were made. I don't need, or want, a manufactured "second cheer" after hearing the decision. I instantly assumed Lazetic was offside - as did the player - and didn't celebrate his first. None of this is removed by the 20 second rule. VAR is shite. It will always be shite. It is shite by definition. It cannot operate on subjective calls, and there aren't enough offsides in the world that could make it worthwhile for that either. I wish people would stop suggesting "ways to make VAR better". It's a completely flawed concept, which everyone knew in advance.

  26. Typically in the end, it probably helped us, which is a dirty thing to say, but it’s still nice to have the caravan dwellers below us. Where they belong.

  27. Just watched the highlights. I think St Mirren are right to be aggrieved about their first goal being chalked off, didn't look right to me seeing it back, not sure it was a penalty though, so I suppose one cancels out the other. Their second, Milne slips, (wasn't the only one to slip during the match last night), I had forgotten Devlin was supposed to be covering, I had a recollection of their striker being one one one with Mitov. Their third, fuck me, it was a poor one and so late. Still not going to grumble too much, it was an entertaining game, not something we have been able to say of late. Was nice seeing one of our strikers score a poachers goal, with our second. 18 shots with 8 on target I think the stats said. if only Nisbet hadn't used the sharp edge of his head with thon header. We rode our luck on Sunday and came away with three points, we played much better last night and got a draw. That's fitba.

  28. Twenty one years ago yesterday we lost our little Moroccan magician. How apt that on that anniversary the World Cup draw pairs us with Morocco.
