  1. Allegedly Ambrose tried the same thing but missed the bin completely, whereas Clarkson got it in the top bins.

  2. Really? Allegedly he ejaculated into a bin on the team bus and then tried to set it on fire to hide the evidence. Edit: a few seconds in and no solicitor calls. I think you might be on to something.

  3. I don't quite understand this. Bounce back to where? Nearly every material resource used to power modernity is on to its decline curve. I don't think age will be a factor in the decline of civilisation. The next war will be fought by the younger generation, at the behest of the older. As has always been the case.

  4. We'll have more fans than that in Prague, for a meaningless game. The definition of a diddy team.

  5. African Cup of Nations in Morocco starts this Sunday. Unbelievable Nigeria have not called up Peter Ambrose for their squad but Tribute Act, Victims, Hibs, Hearts, Motherwell and St Mirren all do have players going. All games being shown on channel 4. https://www.channel4.com/press/news/africa-cup-nations-2025-air-exclusively-channel-4

  6. I think the world is bored shitless of political centrism and I don’t think theres an appetite to return to that, once these right wing virgins eventually run out of juice There’s a few things that give me optimism at home and abroad. I’m encouraged by the Green Party membership here, I’m loving the fact that everyone despises the Labour Party, I’m over the moon that the Tory Party is effectively killed itself and I’m fairly sure the inevitable fall of Trump will reflect incredibly poorly on Reform. I think Europe will strengthen because of the way the US has acted and I think those 70m non voting yanks are just waiting for something better than the usual pish on offer. Theres plenty to be hopeful about. I’m a cup half full kind of guy, unless we’re taking about Aberdeen FC

  7. Avoiding the question? I know it's the politics thread, but you don't have to become a politician.

  10. Not surprising as seeing a flying dragon is every bit as likely as seeing a flying swan

  11. That's not really getting to the crux of the problem though is it? Unless you think that the world's problems stop and end at Trump or Farage. What would be returning to after the saturation point? The time of good old sensible politics with call me Dave and Big Tony? The grown ups, like Nicola? You don't seem to be articulating a future, simply suggesting that the death of a generation will pave the way to something better. I expect that's unlikely.

  13. Fuck, I hope you’re right. Even here in NZ, the rise of these grifting cunts is unreal, because people want to be brainwashed as it takes away from their current reality.

  14. I guess I'm not really understanding what the picture of health looks like in a declining age. I'm not really seeing a vision from anyone politically that suggests that they really understand the issues at hand, not am I sure that the illusion of representative democracy has it within itself to deal with those issues when they present themselves. If there are no wise elderly folk, as you suggest, to pass their knowledge onto the younger generation, then who* will guide them through the next few decades when they'll likely experience things at a scale that no human society has before? Why would it not be easier to jump on board with the grifters and charlatans? What exactly is it that you picture the future looks like? *I'm nae fuckin deein it.

  15. Ex dons defender Mikey Devlin has just announced his retirement from football, at the age of 32. I honestly thought he was a good defender, and wish the guy all the best.

  16. The NYC mayor election gives a little optimism. If the Democrats could shake themselves free of Schumer & Co and de-age Bernie Sanders by about 20 years and really lean into the healthcare and affordability issues then the people would follow I think. But they won’t, and they won’t.

  18. I couldn't see the club holding on to an unhappy player, but if no bids received, other than the alleged one from the Polish club, there is not a lot the club can do. We can't just rip up his contract. Seems like it is going to end in a sour note, which would be a shame as really rate him as a player. I reserve the right to change my mind about him, if he were to rock up in Edinburgh or Glasgow.

  21. I have never looked forward to playing them in our own patch let alone Parkhead and as for them being there for the taking... The scars of watching us over the years, means I can never be that confident going into a game against anyone. We were honking first half yesterday, as bad a 45 minutes as I have ever seen from an Aberdeen team and I've seen plenty. Prague is a free hit. My appetite for the game is zero, but Thelin has to have us far better prepared for Sunday than he did first half yesterday. The green filth don't often lose many games on the bounce and I really don't want us being the team that it starts to click for them.
