  2. Would also add that Milne and Knoester both take 3 or 4 touches when they should know what they are going to do with the ball before it arrives at their feet. Milne, for instance gets the ball from Knoester, takes a touch to control it, moves it sideways, trots forward a couple of paces, then passes to Devlin...any forward movement has already been nullified and Devlin then passes it back to Jack to passes to Knoester who then takes 2 or 3 touches and gives it back to Mitov. Bilolivic was wide open on a number of occasions in the 1st half if we'd moved the ball quicker but by the time we'd fannied around with it he was closed down.,

  4. I really like Polvara. Players that can give a solid 7/10 in four or five different positions are hard to come by, and by letting him go, we'll probably have to get two players in. His two footedness - proper two footedness, unlike thon Dorrington or Jensen lads - made him fairly invaluable. Guys like him allow you to keep your squad a bit leaner and makes it easier to give those that require game time a bit of game time.

  5. 100% All too often today across all leagues we are seeing players cast their eyes across to officials to see if they will bother accepting their goal. VAR has sapped the life and spectacle out of football. Its been proven over its all.ost 3.5 years in the Scottish Premiership that it is even more indecisive than a human referees eye, and it has sadly led to an even more inferior quality of referees today who time and time again reference VAR's decisions because they were too inept to make a decision. Jury's not. Bin it.

  6. The referee’s first name was Ross Whose decisions made me quite cross Plus VAR took its time To NOT draw the lines But we won so who gives a toss?

  8. Aye, that was entertaining today. I don't know if we responded more impressively to going behind or to the referee being an absolute mess. Starting with the ref, that's the second time I've seen him, and both times he's been the worst ref I've seen in Scottish football. He shouldn't be there. Another product of VAR of course, with half the refs watching on a telly somewhere. Onto VAR, that offside call was a fucking disgrace. It wasn't the ref's call to go to the monitor, it's not even the guys in the video room, it's the fucking rules. If you can't draw lines, it's the onfield decision, that has to be written in. They just changed the decision from a factual one to a subjective call and then used an inappropriately positioned camera to decide on it. It completely goes against everything we've been told about it, it's a fucking disgrace. The arrogance of any cunt in a video room suggesting that they know better than an official who is in line is staggering. The whole reason we got VAR in the first place was because ignorant pundit fuckers questioned offside calls from a TV a mile away, and if VAR has taught us anything it's that there are exceedingly few incorrect offside calls that are more than marginal. Terrible decision, regardless of what they think the telly showed them. Anyway, we played some great stuff today. Frame, Keskinen, Shinnie, Nisbet (probably equal with Keskinen for motm) and Armstrong all very good. We defended very well in open play, but Jesus Christ we can't defend set pieces. I don't think it's necessarily about winning headers either, it's more fundamental than that. Our organisation, following the man etc is terrible. It needs a lot of work, I don't think a change of a defender will cut it. Our goals were fantastic, the crosses from Frame and Keskinen just class. Frame worked well with Topi and played well overall. Nisbet's link up play and movement was excellent. Bilalovic tried to take on his man regularly on the other wing too, and his determination for the goal was ace to see. Armstrong seemed to have chucked it at 1-2, for about ten minutes, but then he woke up and started putting in the passes he was doing at the start of the season. The one for Nisbet's nae goal was especially class. The subs from Leven were well timed and effective. Taking Devlin off on a booking the right call, Bilalovic was knackered too. Don't think we can be risking Frame and Lobban at the same time just yet, and Jensen was good when he came on. Clarkson steadied things nicely in midfield and Olusanya is indeed rapid (although he should have gone for it in the last seconds). Great fun.

  9. Is there a place for Aouchiche in the midfield as the hardworking battler or is he too soft and similar to others (and crucially not ours or likely to be). I’ve probably answered my own question there to be fair. As you were

  10. Come to that conclusion a few years ago now. Take each day as it comes and enjoy it as much as you can It's the young I feel sorry for most. What a midden we are leaving behind for them and it's not going to get any better.

  11. Conditions weren't exactly brilliant for that kind of play either.

  12. It looked to me like he was in acres of space, but was also inexplicably making the pass hard for the defenders by standing behind the line of the attacking player. If he'd just taken a few steps back, they'd have had a far less risky pass along the ground.

  13. Certainly a bit of that- Cameron and Armstrong came short but generally well marked. Shinnie too but you feel as he is so left footed he is easier for opponent to read the pitch doesn’t help for give and goes- ball bobbling all over the place, and was pleasantly surprised overall considering the wind as well how many decent passages of play we managed yesterday But as a centre half, if no movement in front, drop it down the channel behind the centre half and make them turn on it now and again- passing back and forth between centre half’s hoping the other will take responsibility is scourge of modern fitba

  14. The thing is we’re all quite rightly lauding our attacking display yesterday, but there were many occasions in the first half that Milne and Knoester saw no movement in the central midfield area in front of them for them to actually spot a team mate to pass to.

  15. As basic as it is, anyone who has played the game as a defender or midfielder has been told not to let the ball bounce. Saw it again yesterday, the hesitancy and doubt. Even if the header isn’t perfect, letting the ball bounce leads to problems so many of the times. Our two CDs do it, Jensen is probably the worst. That’s defending 101 and if leven or the new manager simply emphasizes that we’d be doing a lot better too. Also encourages players to be more aggressive in the air if you play by that ‘rule.’

  16. The TV coverage just looks like handbags with no visible distraught reactions from anyone apart from reacting to the idiocy of it being deemed worthy of a pair of red cards. Whether something was said in the tunnel is a different matter of course.

  18. Just on that link I posted earlier, it wasn’t an attempt to insinuate the Livvy player was pulling the race card or in any way purposely embellishing the truth, more out of concern that accusations were being made again with no substance allowing gossip and the court of public opinion to go into overdrive without any facts. In the previous incident it turned out the player everyone assumed was being accused was identified incorrectly: https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/360506719/new-zealand-footballer-matt-garbett-wrongly-identified-perpetrator-eredivisie-racism-row

  20. Over seven minutes first half injury time, which you don't want on a very cold day. VAR should just be binned, it just sucks the joy from the goal celebrations, which is what all fans are their for. Doesn't help either when you see such poor refereeing on display. Hardie always seems to lose his grip on games early and never recovers. We won 6 (six)- 2 yesterday, but Var, the referee performance and these racist accusations, has fair took a bit of the shine off our result/ performance.

  22. Not in Scotland though, i just don’t think he handles the pace and physicality of the Scottish game. Eager to see how he plays in MLS though, I do think him playing in Scotland has made him a better player. Only way I’d see him succeeding in Scotland would be in central defense as a partner with a left footed mattie pollock. 150k to st Louis, considering he’s out of contract in the summer and we have a bloated squad, fair enough.

  23. Trump didn’t stand on executing citizens on the street and the majority of Americans didn’t vote him in. Both of those points are demonstrably true You say that people are influenced by what they see and we’re probably not getting the full picture over here of what’s happening We absolutely are. I’m worried about what you’re watching though as everything you’ve said previously makes me think FOX is turning your brain to custard. I can go through it step by step where you’re wrong if you’re genuinely interested but I suspect you aren’t

  25. Thanks to a delayed ferry to Shetland (which I’m now sitting on in the harbour!) managed to grab a last minute ticket. Right at the back of the RDS, which was wonderfully sheltered but 0 atmosphere. Not a single song all afternoon. Still, feel like I lucked out for what will almost certainly be my only trip to Pittodrie this season. Others have said pretty much all that needs saying on the game and there’s nothing positive to say about rhe accusation of a racist remark. You can only hope it was misheard. Can’t not comment on one or two other things. 1. The referee. That was just dismal. Laughable. Appalling. From the VAR/not VAR of ruling out a goal, to the red cards and everything in between. Just amateur. He should never be allowed near one of our games again. 2. The twats near me who boo’ed both Nilsen and Jensen when they came on. FFS. Thats just wanker behaviour of the highest order. Just about pished my breeks when Nisbet scored. Couldn’t help letting out a sarcastic boo… 3. The folk who walked out when we went 2-1 down. It was dismal defending, obviously, but it wasn’t even half time. Still - 6 goals, 3 red cards (did Devlin get one too? Wasn’t sure why he left the pitch with Milne). Some crunching tackles. A ref you can hate. VAR was the only thing that took the edge off that as entertainment.

  27. It’s fucking disgusting. Guy was an ICU nurse who tried to help a woman that was pushed to the ground and in return got pepper sprayed, bundled to the ground and executed. Doesn’t matter what any of these fucking ghouls say, it’s on video. At this rate the World Cup is going to be the modern day equivalent of the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

  35. VAR up here is a farce. Why the fuck is a ref going to the monitor for an offside call? VAR Don’t give half the pens they should but just cannot wait to disallow goals. Dons Playing well mind, this is more like it, especially fae Topi. This refs a dick…

  36. Interesting. I’m reading about how good a week he had. Davos, strengthened connections with other leaders, trade deals, increased access to Greenland for military use, further arctic trade opportunities, other countries taking ownership and responsibility, including financial, meetings with Ukraine, Russia, and china, and a booming US economy. i ignore this thread mostly because it’s all who you read, and what’s believable.

  38. Game day and actually looking forward to it. I'm not particularly enamoured with our new signings, although I wish them the best. I'm not in the RDS, so it's not the drinking at the fitba. It's the novelty of a 3pm Saturday kick off that I'm looking forward too most. Fitba played when it should be played, for us non DNA, legacy fans Head first into them. COYR

  39. Was talking about this with Hearts & Celtic fans the other day. Let's say Hearts can win the title and Aberdeen make the top six. Hearts would likely want as many tickets as possible for Pittodrie. We might have nothing to play for. Is it wrong that I really want us to finally give Hearts the same allocation they give us for Pittodrie? "Your biggest game for 40 years is it? Here, have 600 tickets."

  44. Trump is doing what he campaigned on, and what the majority of the country voted on. From what I am reading, ICE was going after an illegal immigrant with a history of domestic violence. These have become highly charged environments, and if a citizen wants to go there armed and get involved in an altercation with armed law enforcement, that’s not a wise choice if you ask me. Sad to lose a life, but I have little sympathy for those who do not apply common sense. If you go armed to a volatile environment, you are accepting the consequences. Same as if you try to drive over armed law enforcement. If you are going to mess with law enforcement who put their lives on the line every single day, consequences are on you. I’m 100% behind law enforcement and couldn’t imagine what they go through every single day, not knowing if that day is their last, especially if you deal with an unpredictable public in a hostile environment who are armed and possibly not weapons trained.
