  3. I am hopeful of keeping Cameron if he does well enough 2bf, he seems really happy to be here and I don't think Rohl has much interest in him.

  4. If there is a contractual agreement wrapped around him in terms of next job and it carries significant financial return then I’d be surprised if he answered yes to that question. Suspect that Lutz has been pushing the idea that we should wait until summer as the market is poor this time of year, he has said as much. If they are looking at a strategic appointment to shape the squad long term (date I say a 3 year project ) then he will know summer is a better time. The Horneland discussion possibly presents a convenient get out. Whether it’s him or not, we are clearly waiting so we may as well get our heads down and accept it’s Leven and Doc who’ll be lifting the cup.

  5. You’ve compared Geiger to aouchiche a couple of times now. I think they are very different. Both have a higher profile back ground, but one is clearly a holding/central mid, whereas Aouchiche was an attacking kid even a wide player. He was only forced deep cos we were piss poor. Aouchiche isn’t a passer, he’s flair with the tricks, Geiger seems much more of a passing play dictator, something we badly need. I’d say Geiger is maybe a little on the Kenny McLean side, but with bite. I think Geiger will learn the demands of Scotti’s football a could’ve really good, but I like his physicality, much needed. a little surprised polvara left his hair for him to wear though. Def needs a tash to complete the look.

  7. In Interim Pete’s media interview on Red TV, he says that only Shinnie misses out. I take it from that that Milne’s back, Geiger’s only banned from the cup tie, and that Armstrong’s fit.

  10. I’m more confident of our ability to beat either of them this season than I was last. On balance I’d prefer to face Celtic as we would have Cameron driving from midfield. ….and if it needs saying, get them out the cup/every competition going as soon as possible, always, every time, without fail.

  11. I would take most journalism with a pinch of salt. If he's got some personal stuff going on as reported then it's probably the furthest thing from his mind. We've got Doc and Leven in place anyway so just need to wait until something else is sorted.

  13. From P&J, Horneland was asked: “There are a lot of rumours about you and Aberdeen. “Are you going to become their new manager?” Horneland replied: “To you? Today? Really (appearing reluctant to discuss the subject).” On whether he is going to become Aberdeen’s new manager, he then added: “No. “First I’ll have a little, short break. Then we’ll see what happens in the summer.” Think there's a few ways to interpret that. Like I said before, is this guy really worth the effort? He did well at Brann, but plenty of other choices out there.

  14. Also, it was one of the hottest years ever last year and we didn't have rain from April to nearly November. He was just pish.

  15. I've not compared them, necessarily, other than by the position they play. Too early to say if Geiger is similar, just that they occupy a similar role. It was clear to anyone watching Aouchiche (apart from Thelin) from his first game that he wasn't an attacking midfielder. He was very similar to Ramadani. Ran up and down all day long, good at harassing players and very good at intercepting. Good on the ball, in terms of retention, but not a particularly progressive passer, and not someone who would shoot unless required. His biggest attribute was the ground he would cover, which I think is something we could really work with. Basically a hardworking number 8. Geiger looks like he might be a better passer and more progressive than Aouchiche. McLean might be a good comparison, although I've not seen anything to suggest he can ping a thirty yard pass or have a strike at goal, so perhaps the deeper McLean of recent years rather than the one with us! I was a little underwhelmed in his opening games, but I think that was a fitness thing. I didn't think he was first to enough second balls, that Aouchiche was good at. That should come good once he's had a few games, I don't think it'll be missing from his game entirely.

  16. I'd be very surprised if Hearts still have a chance to win the title by the final day of the season. They have what looks like a decent run of fixtures before the split, but I'm not convinced they'll win all their home games. Falkirk, Aberdeen, Motherwell. I think they'll drop points in one or two of them. You'd probably say the longest odds are on us taking points there, as pish as we have been this season, but you can't underestimate Tynecastle being a very nervy place if it's not going their way and we could essentially have the pressure off. Even then, I don't see them coping well with the top six. Both the Old Firm and likely an Edinburgh derby at Easter Road against a Hibs side giving everything to beat them. It's a big ask. They need to go into the split with a healthy lead and I'm not sure they'll have it.

  17. Firstly, hitting the post or bar isn't bad luck for them or good luck for us. Those shots were not on target. They were also all chances outside of the box. Celtic had few inside the box because very seldom did they manage to cut us open or get in behind us. That's a sign of a very good defensive performance. But if we're talking big chances, Polvara and Gueye passed up big ones for us in full-time. Gueye passing the ball to Schmiechel when he just had to put it left or right of him was a bigger chance than Maeda's for them, in my opinion. Mitov made a big save, Schmiechel didn't have to. That suggests we got more luck with our goal than they got for theirs, which isn't true. Doesn't matter if you expect him to score. Mitov made a great save. You absolutely are downplaying it. We nullified Celtic. While we took a while to be an attacking threat, we kept our shape, defended well, didn't crumble when 1-0 behind, Thelin made good subs at the right time, outthought Rodgers, and we had three big chances after our goal to win it. We then had fine our homework on penalties. To call it a fluke or luck is utter tosh. What next? We were lucky it rained in Gothenburg?

  18. What luck did we have? Celtic not being at their best isn't luck. Our tactics were set up to nullify them, and they did.

  21. This will absolutely blow your mind but it’s not ok to call someone any of those things. Doing so would see you fired from any job in the UK. Being on a football pitch does not insulate you from that.

  22. We still don't know what was said and we probably never will so its foolish to condemn. However let's say he did call him something that's deemed to be racist in modern society. I stand firmly by my belief that calling an opponent a "black b@stard" is no different to calling them an "ugly / bent / fat b@stard" delete as appropriate or you could even add your own adjectives as you see fit. Verbals are verbals and they should all be treated exactly the same i.e. to be ignored when said inside the unique atmosphere of a football stadium.

  23. You think it's easy for a black person to accuse someone of racism? Do you think it was easy for Logan? Did it look like it was easy for him? Did it look like it was easy for him to get booed by an entire stadium for making it known? Or would it have been much easier for him to be racially abused and kept quiet? The bottom line is, you (nor I) have absolutely no idea what happened in Milne's situation. I've no idea who this thread is referring to either (some foreign pish no doubt), but I suspect that you've got no idea what happened in that situation either. You're choosing to believe the accused rather than the accuser. It suggests a lot about your pre conceived biases. Now, I could take that, and extrapolate that you're a racist, but that would be equally as ridiculous as the suggestions you appear to be making.
