  1. Well that was pish. I hadn't seen or heard the lineup beyond the first 11, so I couldn't believe it when Milne came to the sidelines after Morrison sold the shirts. A fucking ridiculous call to play him, he's not ready for first team football. Dorrington probably had less minutes than this lad. Should have been a double sub after the sending off, as that midfield three clearly wasn't going to have the legs to cope. Aremu way off the pace, Geiger might turn out to be decent, but he's fairly suspect positionally and doesn't seem to have the legs. He might have looked good on the telly, because he has a bit of bite to him, but he arrived late to almost every duel (is that what they call it these days?). Palaversa isn't the answer to anything, of course. Shinnie is head and shoulders our best midfielder despite his legs having been absent for some time now, which is a real concern. Olusanya can't play fitba really, and neither can Keskinen. Cameron decent but again does a lot while doing nothing. Nisbet very good, again, working hard and a beautiful free kick. They're goal was an absolute peach, worthy of winning any match. We're in the shite.

  2. Given this topic has wandered a bit onto terrace chants, here’s one from Dumbarton you may not have heard. It relates to a national scandal (front page of the Sunday Mail no less) from the time our star striker Shuggie Ward got battered and jumped out a window, after being caught in bed with another woman. He was a postie to trade. ‘Postman Hugh, Postman Hugh, now your face is black & blue Early in the morning, as the day is dawning, Postman Hugh is emptying his sack’

  3. I like Leven. He makes some fairly astute calls at times (like recognising when certain players shouldn't be played on their wrong side), but then seems to follow them up with utterly inexplicable ones. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what role he plays when understudy, so don't know enough to suggest he should be binned entirely. In his defence, he's overseen a big turnover of players in a short spell, and been exceptionally unfortunate that his players have decided to take up red cards as their new hobby.

  4. You do realise how perilously close to 11th place we are right? I genuinely don't see this AFC team having the stomach for a fight if we get dragged down any further.

  5. Would like to see Loban instead of Milanovic, knows how to defend, track players runs, likes to get forward and puts crosses into the box...everything Milanovic can't do.

  6. He's a mink and hun mink at that. I don't care how well he's playing. Call it cutting off your nose to spite your face but he isn't welcome here as far as I'm concerned.

  7. Cameron is a Hun who had the choice to come to us but chose to go to the Huns and sit on the bench. He has no interest in signing for us and said when he signed this is about getting game time and going back to Huns. Might be a nice lad but we should not be helping him or the Huns. Felt the same way about Christie and Scales with no option to buy. I should say that I do accept you will have player who support both of the bigots who you sign permanently but at least they are at least committing to us long term.

  8. I am hopeful of keeping Cameron if he does well enough 2bf, he seems really happy to be here and I don't think Rohl has much interest in him.

  9. Wouldn't disagree but what I was trying to say (I'm an old guy so try to bear with me) was that I thought Gieger gave his all today even when he was gassed towards the end and that I thought that Shinnie wouldn't have produced the same intensity today as he did in midweek.

  10. Maybe, but my spidey senses are tingling I'm just hoping for a Kelt vs Seve's child confrontation on here at some point. There's a bit too much sensible discussion on here for my liking. Need some mentalists to complete the circle.

  12. Second game in a row where we started well, creating chances, early goal and let's take it on from here - then we go down to 10 men and become a mess. Olusanya I thought did well in the first half, but the second he just stumbled over everything. We need a new manager poring over this, recognising what needs changed in summer - whether that's from afar or in the dugout. Is Horneland even watching our games, does he have any intention of taking us over? We need clarity on that very soon.

  13. I thought we deserved a point. Was a superb strike to win it. Red card changed the game. I thought the guy dived, so have to assume VAR called it right The time it took VAR to make a decision at the pen/red card showed once again that it should be ditched until we can afford a better version of it.

  14. Believe that if you want but these communications from the club are read and re-read several times before being sent out so the choice of word "imminent" was clearly intentional and that they haven't followed through with it again suggests that they have no idea what they're doing with a managerial appointment. Just to clear up the definition of the word "imminent".... "imminent" means happening very soon 8 days and counting after the communication would confirm that the announcement is indeed not imminent.

  15. We're so goal shy, despite Nisbet being a decent player at our level, that the only sane conclusion for us being so impotent for going on 18 months is a poor midfield and wingers. I want Keskinen to be good but he's really been a constant for the last season and a half so all evidence suggests that he isn't, and neither are any of the alternatives. Dire.

  16. Sorry, but he wasn't. Nisbet for me, did the grafting. Cameron a close second. Geiger tired badly and should have been subbed. It looked like Sivert was line up to come on, then didn't.

  17. Not a lot to add.We went from looking like we might score a few,to making a pretty timid side look like Barca Positives - Think Frame will turn into a player, and Aremu might have something about him in time too Summin funny Bukta,ye poultice

  18. Plus DU away and septic at home, which takes us to the split and if Killie/St M have closed the gap I wouldn't bet on us not having an extra 2 games this season

  19. While that may indeed be the case, the CH needs to just read the game, don’t be beaten by a simple ball over the top, and win your defensive header - in other words just do your fuckin job - its really not that difficult, not for most teams anyway. Devlin also got completely done in the same way in the 2nd half, its just embarrassing how bad we are back there, no natter what players we seem to bring in…

  20. When you allow the opposition to have 23 shots on goal at home then you are not doing your job never mind doing it well. When you consider that team was Dundee then that is another whole level of shit. Playing well for large parts of the game counts for absolutely nothing.

  21. I ken you're new here min but that's a read that's wider of the mark than a Darren Mackie penalty. Rest assured this forum and its posters are surprisingly measured for the most part (at least in the context of the highly emotive world of fitba).

  22. Commentator is correct though, we’re not going to pass our way up the pitch with a man disadvantage. We’ve got 2 strikers, get the ball up the pitch and ask some questions.

  23. Relegation is not to fucked with. It is simply not an option but we are well in the mire. We need to grind two, three wins from somewhere. I would not fancy these in a play-off.

  24. Some strike tbf. Throwing this one away from an ideal position is just another sign of a very poor team…

  25. That’s an absolute peach of a free kick - unstoppable. Top notch Nisbet min…

  28. According to Erin Grieve on X the rules have been updated, so Geiger misses the Dunfermline tie & a semi.

  29. This is turning into a cluster fuck and guessing it won’t feel anything like a World Cup has in the past. Every single part of it seems to be various different US organisations with their hands out look for money. From charging for fan zones, the ticket prices and the cost of accommodation it all just feels different to before. Glad I decided not to go.

  30. If we don’t think afeez is up for it yet I’d be inclined to go with sivert and Geiger. Afeez coming on when the old man is tired. Expect a good game from Geiger too, think the cup game will be a good lesson for him and he’ll want to do well today. Desperately want to see lobban at right mid, think he’s such a better option than milanovic.

  33. I think it's a weegie myth, that Aberdeen isn't a city for fitba. A proud one club city, with no sectarian shyte having ever dragged us down to the levels of other Towns and Cities. I think that's the part that irks them most. Please, please don't say the Cove huns are the second team of the City. They're not even the second club in Cove. Whatever is happening at Bodo, it will never happen here again. They are probably going through a period, like we did in the 80s, with Fergie. Everything has just aligned for them as it did us and good luck to them. I was in Oslo in October, and Bodo have a pop up shop at Oslo Airport, where you can buy Bodo merchandise. I thought that was impressive.

  34. Exactly. Ryan Jack loves his home city for example, and Connor Barron. Not to forget Scott Wright who can't stay away from the place. We should welcome them all home. Probably wait until they're past it though, so we get them cheaper.

  38. Massive win. Well done all, but fuck me everything is just so laboured with us. Why we find it so hard to just show a bit of composure and keep the ball is beyond me. They manage it fine enough, though to be fair both goals came from them fucking about at the back. But its a win, in the cup, & a quarter final against a lower league team so that’s all that matters at the end of the day…

  39. Bit worried about our midfield for this one. Shinnie a big miss. Don't think Geiger and Armstrong would work, and not sure about Aremu yet. Nilsen and Geiger might be best. The wide players are a big concern, but unfortunately we need to play them. I think 4-4-2 would be our best option, but we can't play that with Cameron in the side. Similarly, we can't play Olusanya wide. A reluctant game for Milanovic and Keskinen basically.
