  1. I actually listened to the recent episode on the way home yesterday after it was advertised on here, and I had AI vibes too. I've been on the HereWeGo podcast a few times in the past as a guest, but sullied myself each time by talking shite. I think I'm better off with the written word rather than trying to have real life human interactions.

  2. EE reporting that Sandro Schwartz is in Aberdeen for talks and will be at Pittodrie tomorrow night. If we get him in quick enough, he should have enough time to get sacked before Horneland is available I suppose.

  3. It's pretty clear from that piece that Big Dunc isn't really in tune with how clubs operate these days. The notion that a "manager" decides on player contracts went out the window as soon as - if not actually long before - Pfannensteil came in and, much as I hate it, the modern trend seems to be that managers won't take jobs mid season unless absolutely forced to. And we're not really a club that's in a position to force anyone decent to do anything.

  4. We do need a strong right winger.

  5. Arild always fancied himself as a bit of a deep thinker and intellectual - even if he could never get his head round the offside rule - but “modern football”? Fit the flocks that supposed to mean, and how in anyway would it differ from fit Thelin was supposed to bring…

  6. This is an example of what is known as 'The Gambler's Fallacy' A guy watches the roulette wheel and notes that the ball has landed on black 10 times in row. He concludes that this means the next spin must be red, or has an elevated chance of landing on a red ..... so he whacks his weeks wages on red. It lands on black ... he fumes and claims there is something wrong with the wheel ... Of course, previous spins or tosses of a coin have no bearing on the probability of the next outcome. Funny enough, folk who gamble on the horses/dogs do the opposite - they study form. No sane gambler will bet big on a horse/dog which has failed to win or be placed in it's last umpteen races in the belief that it is 'due a win' I do fancy we'll score, but .... errr .... I wouldn't bet on it

  10. Got no idea who this guy is, or his history, but an ex MLS manager gives me the fear, given how bad Septic got stung going down that route with Nancy.

  11. A Schwartzer as a manager. That won't go down well with the Stop The Boats element amongst the Dons support. Not convinced this is going to happen. Or perhaps I'm just hoping it won't. Not impressed.

  12. There are still plenty of tickets available in the area that went on sale to ‘home’ fans at 10am yesterday. I’m not too sure how easy it is to get them if you don’t have a buying history at East End as my sons are Pars fans and I live in Dunfermline. I would imagine that there will be a few Dandies in the main stand on Saturday evening.

  14. Don’t do that to me. 10 seconds of blind panic until I saw it was Torquay he had joined.

  15. Just going on what I have seen. In games against United and Hearts he was completely ineffective. Runs about a lot but didn’t affect either game. Thought he was okay against Dundee but nothing special. Those are only games I have seen him live in. I haven’t seen a player that I would spend a fee on. Aouchiche left Sunderland for Schalke on a free so the £1.5m fee is a bit of a red herring. He was playing well just before we returned him. Thought he looked a better player surrounded by poor players than Cameron has. In his 12 games Cameron has not been credited with a single assist and no goals. Aouchiche managed 3 goals surrounded by the same poor players. Anyway I think the discussions of Cameron joining are a mute point anyway as he turned us down only 12 months ago and made it clear when he came that this is all about playing his way into the Tribute Act team. If he was interested in coming he would have got an option to buy in the deal. There isn’t.

  17. The fact that we even made a Wilfred Nancy Septic team look good last year, shows you what we are up against tomorrow night. I actually think we have looked better as a team recently, just lacking confidence all over the park and experience in certain areas. Be lovely to get something tomorrow night and derail their quest for the title

  18. As always I sincerely hope I am wrong pal, but I jist canna see it. Do give ourselves a chance we need to be up for it and at least have a go and who knows maybe even get a shot or two on target and maybe even string three or four passes together, But I jist canna see it. Let's at least hope hope at the end of it we have a full clean bill of health and we can set about getting these charlatan's ready for the trip to East End park.

  23. Willie Miller, who stayed with us his whole career, despite better offers, who turned his back on Glasgow because of the sectarian shite…”ah hated it”,and whose chosen to still stay up here after these years..”love the City, love the people”. Why’s he not part of the Aberdeen family you spangle?

  25. Bit of self reflection could be useful at this point. While I agree with your point about differing opinions being shut down, that’s not strictly what you’ve been doing these last weeks. You’ve been prolific on a board that’s reasonably subdued so are going to create some form of impact just with that. On top of that, you’ve often been provocative and antagonistic with your views. Sometimes appearing to court controversy to attract attention to your opinions. None of that is a crime and it’s fair you defend your right to do it. Personally, I don’t mind a different point of view being thrust into a public discussion, certainly creates topics to debate and life about the place but it can be difficult to sympathise when you consistently call others out for their views (being overly negative, spastics etc etc) and then behave like your being attacked when the opposite happens. Not telling you how to behave by any means, just suggesting maybe toning down the controversial bait until folk get to know you. I’m fairly new on here myself (although used to post decades ago) and have had to temper my natural argumentative self a bit as I settle in. Makes for a much more enjoyable time if we just respect each others right to a view and have open and honest discussion.

  26. Jist a wee note for younger folks fa might nae ken, Alex Ferguson would visit other clubs' games regularly when he was still a player wi Falkirk, Ayr Utd and also while manager o' St. Mirren. As a young lad, match day would start wi' the buyin' o' a match programme, then hangin' around the main entrance acostin' players for their autographs ... there were at least 3 occasions where Ah spotted SAF walkin' doon Pittodrie Street on his way tae see the game .... so it could be claimed he had a connection tae the Dons way longer than might be apparent. However, such a claim wid be outrageous in view o' the countless stadium stand seats the presence of his squeaky bum has graced over the decades. My guess is, he's simply a fitba man - start tae finish, aa the wye through an' twice on a Sunday - fa jist enjoys a good game o' fitba .... especially if he gets in for nithin!

  27. Aw come on tae fuck Bertie-boy, there's a world o' difference between slavishly loving Alex Ferguson and advocating for the toppling o' his statue. You had a go at 'wokism' in an earlier post. For your information, one of the earliest uses of the term 'woke' (which started out as a positive term), occurred when activists campaigned for the removal of statues honouring public figures who made their name/fortune from the slave trade or other human rights violations. I for one agree that such individuals should not be honoured ... I would also like Cromwell Road to be renamed. But ... toppling the statue of Sir Alex Ferguson because he wore a purple tie? (Appropriate since he was a guest of HMFC ... he also wore a red scarf by the way). Can ye nae appreciate why folk think yer trollin'? That and referring tae fellow users fa disagree wi' you re. prospective Hearts title win as 'spastics'? Callin' folk spastics was funny back in primary school ..... and you suggest others 'grow up'? Well sir, I think most o' us have grown up enough nae tae be disparagin' o' people wi neurological conditions and/or to suggest fellow posters have some physical/mental/sensory disability which prevents them from seeing things our way and no other. Ah like the fact you are generally positive and optimistic re. Dons, and hope you continue to post in such a manner .... but for others tae be accepting o' your position, ye really need tae be tolerant o' the position of others.... that would be a good start ... or restart even.

  28. Aye, 10 trophies in six years and we're now worried about him wearing a maroon tie, whilst a guest of a club, who won the Tennants Sixes over the same period AND got relegated. Fergie also stopped their quest for the Scottish Cup in 86 before a ball was kicked. Strange behaviour by so called Dons fans I'd love to know both their thoughts on our current crop of shyte.

  30. So we turning on an 83 year old man, who won us three titles, four Scottish Cups, one League Cup, one European CWC a Super Cup and the 1986 Tennents Sixes Doesn't matter where he watches his football or the colour of his tie, the important thing is he gave us our greatest spell as a club. We should focus our anger on the shitshow we put up with on the field, instead of turning on Fergie. He was always a Hun, which makes his record with us all the more sweeter.
