  1. And again when he voted along with the Tims to block the once in a lifetime chance to change 11-1 voting, thus ensuring the arse cheeks will continue to run the show just how they want it ad infinitum. The singularly most embarrassing, damaging and downright unforgivable thing anyone associated with AFC has ever done. Oh ffs, you’ve got me started now, I’ve started listing and I’m getting angry again just thinking about that gype and all the damage he did…

  2. I’m only saying tony doc because I think he’s a better option than leven. Maybe gets us one or two more wins but that matters. Don’t see us getting a legit manager until summer so it’s our best option.

  3. Him still being at the club is wrong. Him having any say in the direction of the club is very wrong. I wouldn't let the him within the city boundaries, never mind Pittodrie.

  4. Don't get me wrong I wanted McInnes gone as much as most as he had become stale and jaded especially after he had took his personal time to consider his future. However, if Cormack had invested the amount of money he has wasted since into our team at that point and given Derek free reign a la Milne then I do believe we would not be in this state now. That is what is infuriating. At that point it was all about Cormack though and his vision. He hasn't quite been the hero to us all that he pictured in his head.

  5. We're now at the panic button stage. We could end up with any manager. Very harsh on Leven if he gets sacked from a caretaker role. He's not meant to be the guy that runs the first team, he's a coach. Anyway, last night stems from not understanding midfielders, again. Just as did with Goodwin, Robson and Thelin. We effectively lined up with a 4-1-4-1. Shinnie is not, and has never been, a player that sits in front of the defence (the same error that Goodwin made with Ramadani). He doesn't play the side to side well, and he ends up being late to everything and just looking old and slow, whilst getting absolutely knackered. It was very clear in the 15 minutes he played against the Tims that he struggles there if Leven required a fucking reminder. Secondly, in Scottish fitba, you have to be very good to play two "creative" midfielders against anyone. We're not close to being good enough. It's Cameron or Armstrong, not and. Nilsen and Shinnie with one ahead of them is how we should be approaching every game, regardless of the opponent, based on the options we've got. Switching out one for Geiger as and when required for fitness or suspension. I genuinely don't think that Leven recognises that midfielders come in different forms with different specialisations. He sorted it in the second for a bit, but after the game was gone. Milanovic is dogshite, but I understood the reason he started. Olusanya can't play as a winger. Bilalovic was a disgrace against the Tims. However, if you are playing Milanovic, you can't play Lobban, it has to be Jensen. Especially with Frame on the other side and a tired looking Milne. Anyway, the players were terrible, but they were set up to fail.

  6. We did it years ago on Mad, I chipped in along with others like Mason. Trust me it was some list - utterly depressing. Not doing it again, its not cathartic in the slightest. Seeing that cunt fired into the sun from a cannon placed on the roof of the RDS, that would be cathartic. I’d pay good money to watch that…

  9. I don’t think so. But it highlights why I highly doubt someone will come in now versus the summer. We’re a shit show and the new manager will want a window summer and preseason. They’re pretty much fucked if they were to start now. Awful squad with no confidence. That’s why I think you give it to doc for now, at least he’s seasoned, leven isn’t capable and I fear where we’ll go under him.

  10. You did say it was the same for both sides, you didn't explain why the team in the division below us could pass and move and run whilst we couldn't on the same "bobbly" pitch do the same.

  11. I don’t buy this. Who in their right mind takes a managers job knowing he doesn’t pick the team. Youve got nothing to gain there, and let’s just say you do well and are up for a future head coaches job, do you tell them you didn’t actually pick the team?? He may be getting input but I have to believe Leven has the final say. ill also add, who knows the squad better, Leven or lutz, and who has coached us before. Lutz picking the team makes no sense. Has he even been a manager/coach before?? loads of people losing it at present given the situation, and plenty of chat going around, some maybe true, others complete nonsense.

  12. We all want a new permanent manager, I don’t think that’s the discussion. Pretty sure that happens in the summer, it’s the increasingly worrying period before that. how could doc be worse? We’re playing terribly, don’t create chances, don’t score, can’t defend, gift goals, don’t look overly aggressive or competitive, and lose most games. And team selection is debatable. Law of averages, it would be quite hard to be worse. i think the honorable thing to do is leven walks away, we make that happen. You certainly cannot swap. You have a convo and he steps aside. That leave doc and the new boy coaching/running the first team, do we really need three coaches for 9 games? Your laughable comment has little weight, we’re beyond laughable at the moment anyway, and we have a 9 game season. I don’t care if people laugh if it means winning games, even simply picking up points.

  13. Do we honestly think that anyone will take the fall for last nights debacle? Are we going to line up for our next fixture with the same coaching team or will the FMB act and demote Leven (they won't sack him) and have Doc or the other geezer in control? Whether it's harsh or not there has to be something to showcase that certain performances and results wont be tolerated. If the players see non-action from the board etc. then they will know definitively that they can coast until the end of the season.

  16. 2017 was the peak. We had a really good team. Pushed a really good Celtic team all the way in that cup final. That’s when he should have left, downhill like a toboggan after that…

  17. It's harsh, because it's not his job. It's like asking Sarah from accounts to cover HR for Julie, who's on maternity leave, for a few months and then sacking Sarah because she accidentally paid someone the wrong amount. I don't think any of us know whether Leven is good at his actual role at the club or not. He should at least be given the opportunity to return to that role either now or once a new manager is in place should they wish to retain him. It's is very unfair to expect him to be good at the role of manager when it's not his job, or what he's being paid to do. That the club can't get their shite together for a replacement for Thelin is not Leven's fault, and he shouldn't be punished for it. Being a constant doesn't infer blame. The youth team staff have been fairly constant too, but they're not at fault, neither the admin staff. None of us have the slightest clue what Leven's day to day responsibilities were under Thelin or prior. It's possible to be good at being a coach and foil for a manager but be shite at tactics and taking responsibility. Plenty here seem to be suggesting that we sack Leven and promote a guy who fits exactly that description in Docherty. We're basically suggesting replacing one caretaker manager for another caretaker manager with the exact same skillset. Leven is a pish manager, but we've made and shat in that bed and we have to live with it until we can do the right thing and get a proper manager. Firing the guy that we've asked to do a favour for a few weeks isn't the answer to anything.

  18. I have gotten a lot of push back when I say this, but the stars aligned for Mcinnes when he came to us. Rangers had died, hearts Dundee utd and hibs had all been relegated while Mcinnes was here, and he inherited the foundation of a solid squad. We added a few good signings, plus he had some good leaders, and it was a very good spell with him. Similarities to hearts this season maybe, the rest have their problems and he inherited a good squad.

  20. We are probably still paying Jimmy - maybe we should get him back - tell him that now he is re-energised to get a couple of wins like he did when he first came here then he can go home again No I am not being serious

  21. It’s the same for both teams but my point was that we didn’t pick a team that suited the conditions/surface/environment/occasion. maybe second half we went more direct as a result of the conditions, but it wasn’t really going direct with any sort of tactic or purpose. We played hit and hope for about the last 30 mins and created little or nothing. There was no coaching or game plan, other than throw on a second forward and hope, then throw on a third forward and hope some more. as someone who has coached for 30 years, I always look for coaches influence and in game adjustments. Coaches can win games. See nothing from leven to suggest he’s got a creative mind, even a basic understanding. He’s doing more damage than Jimmy, who was bad enough.
    1 point
  22. Not just understanding the midfielders. But understanding the occasion. Cup game away to a lower league team and he came in with a powder puff technical midfield and youth. I couldnt tell but I think it was damp and a heavy pitch? Another reason you don’t really go with flair. You could throw in the fact it was a Neil Lennon team too but I don’t think he outcoached leven, the damage was all leven’s own doing.

  24. RELEGATION: Hope it isn't breaching any rules but I've been reading comments on AFC Chat. At least three people who are presumably Dons fans are claiming we were only saved from relegation because of the Falkirk ground not being SPFL rules compliant. One of the people claiming this is a "gold" member which I presume means he's a big shot which makes it double mental. Surely we were only spared having to take part in a play-off which no-one knows if we'd have won or lost? I can't understand Dons fans who buy into weegie media nonsense so much that they literally take as truth everything that is printed in rags like the DR. Mindboggling.

  25. Seriously? Wow Short memory. The club was an absolute shit show when he was in charge - on and off the park. At least its only a shit show on the park these days. We actually finished bottom of the league when he was running the show ffs. I could spend quite sometime listing all his monumental failures and fuck ups - and I’d probably still miss a bunch - but life’s way too short. Of course its not all his fault, but he’s still there, still on the board, still involved in decision making - why and for what? No business I know or have ever worked with would keep someone with an abysmal record of utter failure like Milne has hanging around for 30 years. Definition of insanity stuff…

  26. Absolutely. Bizarre to turn it on him. It was actually the point at which he stepped down as Chairman that it started to turn to shit.

  27. Okay. Having calmed down and slept on it this is where I'm at. I was being an over positive fool to expect us to win easily last night and for us to finish sixth or seventh. I now see finishing in a play off place is possible though I still view it as unlikely. I do worry that we lack the players who can roll up their sleeves and get stuck in if it comes to a battle but ultimately I think we'll stay up but it isn't a cast iron certainty and it's as much about other teams being worse than us than us being a good side. Do I still want a head on a platter? Yes I'm afraid I do. Leven has to go ASAP. If he has any sense of honour he'll resign but the way contacts work and the fact he's a Hun make that highly unlikely. Docherty would then take over his role. Not ideal but it's the best option available. I don't want us to be rushed into appointing any old manager just because he's available. Horneland or Schwarz would be mental to take the job on and I'm now highly doubtful if they'll still be interested. Put yourselves in their shoes. Would you really want to take over at a club that's the top to bottom basket case Aberdeen are just now? I suspect it's now far more likely it'll be a Scot taking over as manager. Yesterday again we played some good football but it was only for about ten minutes. That's no use to man nor beast. Our players are far too soft, lazy and they just don't appear overly fussed about losing despite the performative sad and upset faces at the end. Having players with that mindset and allowing them to continue playing for our great club indicates to me there are serious problems that start from higher up than coaching level. Where's their personal pride if nothing else? Lutz can bugger off. Ideally Cormack would go too. It stands to reason the likes of Garner, Burrows and the rest of those types should go as well if that unlikely scenario were to pass. It's a totally new start we need. A "reset" the millennials would call it. New broom sweeps clean. Players I'd be fussed about leaving are few although I believe several of them could definitely perform well under the proper management but they'd need to sort out their mentality. I really have little enthusiasm left for the remaining games. The life has been sucked out of me by last nights disgrace (I rate it alongside Darvel as a humiliation) but I'm sure by the time the Falkirk game comes around last night will have been put behind us, it'll be business as usual and we'll all be up for it raring to go again. We're fans it's what we do.

  28. I only got there are half-time because I was working at the rugby. Met my mates, stayed for half an hour, and we decided to leave with 15 minutes to go. Value for money, would do it again. Even in that little time, I saw too much. Every throw in, we threw it back the way towards the centre halves so they could improve their passing stats. Every pass in the final third had to go wide to Keskinen, who Dunfermline just closed down. Too easy. Have no idea why people (more than one) on this board think Tony Docherty should be interim manager. Go look at his appalling spell at Ross County. What we need is a permanent manager. Preferably a good one.

  30. I don’t know where to begin with that. Team was reasonably close to one I woukd have picked with only Milanovic being one I would not have started and boy was he shite. Was wrong about Frames lack of defensive ability not causing us issues it did. Felt we were complete ineffective in middle of park. Cameron was particularly bad. I actually think we have got worse since sacking Thelin.

  31. Milne is a shareholder. That's why he's there. If someone buys his shares then he won't be.

  32. And they'll all say when they're featured in the match day programme "As soon as I heard Aberdeen were interested it was a no-brainer" meaning they'll pay me shed loads of dosh and I really don't have to give a fuck.

  33. We are a complete shambles from top to bottom and it’s so sad to see. We need a manger in ASAP. On a brighter note I managed to avoid the Smiths tribute act in Drummonds.

  34. It's about our loyalty, through loyalty points. You can go to home and away games and be classed as less loyal than someone who rarely goes, but has top tier DNA membership. Folk don't go to games and want to contribute, fair enough, but the shyte around it stinks.
    1 point
  35. The problem with it was that it was linked to loyalty points. So when a fixture came up like Burnley away, then all those non attending Aberdeen fans that fancied a jolly went straight to the front of the queue. I never saw many of them when we were drawing to Gretna at Fir Park… It was a solution to a problem that didn’t exist (put your stories about not getting to anfield away here) It would’ve been far more honest just putting a begging bowl out

  36. Oh and send Cameron back tomorrow. He's built like a schoolboy. We need tough buggers in our side not fairies. There's battles to be had.

  37. Reading Leven's interview and he is throwing the players under the bus and admitting that we are in a relegation battle. There is not really any other option other than for him to go. The players are not responding to him at best and we need a different approach quickly to avoid any further relegation concerns. I doubt that is TD but other than the tea-lady who could improve us?
    1 point
  38. We need more than a sacked/punted Ross County manager. We need the folk in charge to pull their finger out and get a manager in. Six/seven players signed in January and not one has improved us, not one.

  39. I now have the fear for relegation for the first time this season.

  40. I’ve watched some shite from AFC over the last 30 years, but this shambles of a team & season takes the fuckin biscuit. They should all be fuckin ashamed of thrmselves, all of them, on and off the park. I know they won’t be, cause none of them clearly seem to give a fuck, but they should be…

  41. So make him an offer he cannot refuse and see what happens. Surely worth a punt? What a load of complete bollocks. How on earth have you come to that conclusion? So his level is 13 points above us and in the cup semi with significantly less resources that he would have at the Dons. So you have concluded that he would not be capable of more with (supposedly) better players at his disposal?

  42. I'm afraid it does. Well it did I've been away for a while. I have witnessed it firsthand at a couple of the larger oil service companies. The Northeast doesn't do sectarian sh1te but plenty of senior managers and recruiters are from the central belt.

  43. We want a 'good' manager. We need a 'good' manager. Unfortunately, no manager with even a little sense is going to touch us at the moment. Stuff all this nonsense of nobody until summer, as that's all it is. Media being fed shit from Lutz and Cormack.
