I do wonder if Emir Bajrami was the one who lit the fire under players arses in the Thelin regime. Robinson has spoken really well so far but he's been good with a mic under his nose every time I've ever heard him. It is nice to have a manager I actually want to listen to again though. Leven clearly hates doing press, Thelin was ok to a point but still pretty bland, Goodwin was solid enough, Glass a bit meh. McInness was excellent though and I would put Robinson in that category. All that said you can't fake enthusiasm and he's clearly delighted to be here which I must admit does lift the spirits a bit. Overall I'm defo feeling a bit better than I did yesterday morning when the news dropped though still remain sceptical this is going to be the right choice long term.3 points

Your loyalty lies with the online message board, not some employer. When you get fired for calling tom English an ineloquent writer, this will be the first place you come.2 points

Well it has been some rollercoaster since lifting the Scottish Cup last May. I could not believe the announcement from Aberdeen two days ago but now that he is in the door feel a bit calmer tbh and good that he at least for now is coming across well. Hope Leven goes today - I was at Dunfermine cuptie and those players were running about like headless chickens. I'm hoping for a bit of stability and some points please then group stages of league cup will be much better prep for the season to come.2 points

If it was horneland or another foreigner, Aberdeen is just another random job. And questions would be asked, comments made etc. Robinson knows the club, the size of the club, and truly feels this is a step up, a one he deserves. He rightly says we are a big club with history, and means it. I think we’ve got a very motivated guy, eager to have us punch above our weight too.2 points

Milne, Nilsen, Molloy has to be the back 3 if Robinson goes for a back 5 but we've certainly had the luck against us with our CB injuries.1 point

I think living in Florida, surrounded by republicans has an impact on perception - rightly or wrongly (I'm not going to judge someone despite not agreeing). In contrast to the view out of Florida, I am just back from Colorado and California - both pretty blue slates. The general opinion from my colleagues there is the economy is teetering on the brink, the dollar is weak, borrowing is sky high, cost if living is still rising and unmanageable etc etc. There is also a real fear of the cabinet and the global damage they will do - particularly Hegseth. The guys a fuckin lunatic who should be nowhere near politics. There is a real appetite for Newsom amongst those I know and I would love that! I lived in Denver from 2004-2008, then San Francisco from 2008-2010 (when Newsom was mayor), before 6 months in Portland, and I noticed a real difference whenever I go back to visit. I still love both cities and would move back tomorrow, but you can see how they have (perceivably) been negatively impacted by trump's terms. I also notice how the cost of groceries increases with every visit (this was also an issue under Biden). The eat or heat (or pay for medicine) seems worse now there than it is here. I must follow this by saying myself and my colleagues are what those on the right would seem to be tree hugging woke liberals - and I am not ashamed to be labeled as that. But I won't criticise Orlando Don for his view as the situation is different for everyone - I just won't agree with it This illegal war has to be the final straw, something has to give. I love the place but feel it is in danger of sliding into proper division and carnage - Jan 6th x 100. It's a fuckin shit show1 point

I think it is getting looked at, with a view to cutting it out. Almost as bad as VAR.1 point

Recruitment will be the key for success under Robinson. Hopefully the contact book of Lutz can find better players than it did in January. I'm glad most fans are mainly behind Robinson, but like Goodwin before him, it won't take much for our fanbase to turn against him. He can fuck off right off though, if he starts making our players roll around injured after the five minute mark, like his St Mirren team did. I'm no football purist, but I hate that shit. We might be shit, but we can surely be better than that.1 point

I would not be at all surprised if we had just worked our way down the list as it was becoming clear we weren't going to get our preferred candidate or that the interim appointments clearly weren't working. No doubt that Robinson would have interviewed well and most likely that it was Lutz who would have conducted the interview. I don't buy the whole Ai - Lutz sent me a threatening DM on twitter stuff. Leave the gossip for the fish wives. It's clear some fans have had it in for Lutz from the start. Like a lot of fans, it'll take a wee while to warm to the idea of our new coach but he's made a good start without a ball being kicked. Really wish him well.1 point

Just seen my ST renewal email and it is a digital ticket from this season. If you want a card it's an extra £10. I know most folk are phone obsessive, but I'm nae. Phoned up to cancel my renewed tickets, gave them my reason and got the card fee waived That is why I will never be a top red.1 point

I heard it's because Dave Cormack can't stand that unfunny prick Michael McIntyre being on the telly so often.1 point

He confirmed in Mal’s Red TV interview that Kerr’s his assistant. I found the interview quite inspiring as he sounds like he’ll accept nae shite, and seems to have a good insight to the game as she is played on this fucking rainy, windy rock. I’m unlikely now to see many/any games before the end of the season, unfortunately, but I’ll be keeping tabs on him.1 point

Is it genuine panic though? Or simply the realization that we cannot wait? It doesn’t need to be panic, can be a logical decision, Robinson was a consideration from day one, knows the team and the league, and can be grabbed asap.1 point

I will say this, Robinson seems well happy to join us. a step up to a top Scottish club despite the current situation. As he says, two phases, firstly stability this year and ‘survive,’ then summer and beyond. He’s certainly motivated to do well and knows exactly what he’s in for. I also like that he’s got obvious passion/fire, always felt Thelin was too nice and passive. I feel a coach needs that side to him, obviously has to be used smartly too.1 point

Maybe. Or was it simply the final acceptance that enough is enough and we need someone now? If you are in the club, do you wait for the perfect girl? At some point decisions have to be made or you’re going home alone.1 point

I’m starting to warm to the appointment, probably blind optimism. At the very least I expect him to sort out our defence however it doesn’t help that most/all of our half-decent defenders are all injured. So Robinson gets my full support and let’s hope for a new manager bounce on Saturday!1 point

The first team coach that had Norwegian experience seems even stranger- was potentially a Horneland appointment with him meant to come in summer What is his role now? more coaches than Central1 point

I'm not buying that. If you're good enough to be signed by that lot there would definitely be other clubs down in England that would be prepared to sign you. Clubs with a lower profile perhaps but probably, in fact almost definitely paying more money than rangers. Only thorough going bastards that will burn in hell's fires for an eternity sign for that club. ** As mentioned earlier foreign players are not included in my seethe.1 point

My memory is shit but I can easily recall every lyric of that song. A masterpiece. Had the single in lilac vinyl. Played it to death.1 point

Here's hoping this is the man to get us on the right path. Hopefully he can cope with the step up and expectations that go with it.1 point

I feel cheated and completely underwhelmed. It has been a complete circus getting to this point. I really can't see a future at the club for Lutz if his position has been undermind by burrows. The board have acted in a totally amateurish fashion throughgout all of this. Not my choice and quite clearly not the club's first choice (otherrwise wait 2 plus months). Smacks of desperation and panic with I think Dunfermline result spooking Cormack and Burrows. He'll get my support as any new guy (apart from warnock) would but I can't see him getting much rope and unless there is a very quick turnaround in terms of performances and results wont last long. I think he has been superb for Motherwell and St. Mirren but not the right fit here. 2 and a half months of "global recruitment" has seen us ending up going to Paisley again. Not good.1 point

Don't have an issue with it, but from a personal point of view couldn't get past the ask to donate money to a private company owned by significantly wealthy people.1 point

Aye, seems reasonable. It's a real shame that a separate entity hadn't been created to collect DNA money, that polled its funds and bought shares to collectively press the club in how it was being run. That'd have been a far better way to support the club in my opinion.1 point

Welcome aboard Mr Robinson. He doesn't fit the strategy at all, but I think it's important to recognise that he was actually on our original shortlist back when we started looking, and was possibly the preference of at least one of those responsible for hiring, so it's not a completely wild appointment. It's a pragmatic appointment at least. We could easily have gone down the route of inexperienced or high risk foreigner for the sake of foreigner route that when weighed up would be much worse than Robinson. It's not like he doesn't tick any boxes at all. If Lutz is in any way a good sporting director, and not just an ego, then he'll definitely be able to work with Robinson. Just as he would have been able to work with the fourth or fifth foreigner on his list despite whatever flaws they brought. As long as we're clear about responsibilities from the outset, we should be fine. I actually think the worst thing would be if Lutz leaves. We've decided on a model that requires a sporting director. That means Lutz would have to be replaced. Once again we'd be getting a sporting director in after appointing a manager. Which would be taking shambolic to its peak.1 point
