  1. This story is hilarious (although, a few months of stress for the poor bloke involved). Basically an Aberdeen fan got charged with assault for singing Stand Free. My favourite part:- His daughter Lauren gave an example of the fists-out gesture to the court and sang a line from the Stand Free chant. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crm89w9yeyno

  2. Playing a system that suits the players you’ve got? Madness! It’ll never catch on.

  3. He should never have started at Dunfermline. A shocking decision and through no fault of the laddie either, same goes for Frame on the left. They will hopefully have learned from it though and Robinson uses them more wisely going forward, which I think he will.

  4. I'm classed as VERY woke, although I don't see myself as woke at all, but I suppose I must be. I am likely worse than woke, as I am a proud left winger/commie, even though I come from a family of tories, of the Alf Garnett type. I am still known as that "militant bastard" amongst my siblings. I've all but gave up arguing politics now. I could even say I've given up on politics, although my beliefs are still strong and never compromised. The Nazi comparison might seem way off, but when you read the statements posted by Trump and listen to the press conferences by the likes of Hegseth, the comparisons are as clear as day to me. The uniforms might be missing, but a lot of the ideology is there.

  5. Robinson has been mainly playing 3-5-2 this season, and wouldn't be surprised if he does that in his first game. He's also played 3-5-2 in both games v Falkirk this season - a 2-1 away win, and a 2-0 home defeat (although they had seven players injured for the second one). I also think Shinnie will start as he'll want his captain in there for the first game. Olusanya is his man so likely starts too (although Lazetic did score a glorious goal against St Mirren). My prediction (I presume there's no suspensions/injuries I've missed):-

  7. How did you recognise a strap on dildo...asking for a friend. I too thought Falkirk were better throughout the game...the number of times we pressed them and they always knew what they were going to do with the ball before they got it (obviosly with the one exception) in complete contrast to our defence who invairably take at least 1 touch and then go back to the keeper.

  8. Over 70 minutes gone at Rugby Park Killie one up against Del's all conquering Diet Huns. From a personal perspective it is a little like watching your mother in law driving your new Porsche over a cliff

  9. Just back, via The Grill. Walking through Froghall going to Pittodrie and a random strap on dildo was on the pavement, at that point I knew Morrison was playing. Got to my seat and who comes walking up the steps from the pitch, only God himself. That man really is idolised by us lot. On to the game, the curveball I mentioned further back this morning, was Lazetic. Two up front! We tried to keep a shape all game. We stopped the playing out from the back and went more direct, which worked better for us. Mr Robinson, Stuart Armstrong isn't a defensive midfielder under any circumstances. We are struggling for match fit players, which is truly staggering this late into the season and it showed so much. I looked fitter than Palaversa when he came on and I have Angina. Grounds for optimism and I am sure Robinson will get more from us as the games come round. I thought Falkirk were far better than us all over the pitch. It's like night and day comparing us with them and when you consider the were struggling in league one three years ago, it truly is mind blowing. Mitov made some key saves to keep us in it, but our goal was sweet as.... I thought it was our three points and disappointed we couldn't see it out, but no complaints from me. Onwards and upwards. Rico - I can't agree with you on Lobban today. I thought he was decent. I do agree that Geiger should have been off way earlier. He was spent, well before he went off.

  10. Milne is in the same situation as Malloy, in the lead up to the goal he chickened out of a challenge in the air. He's also an accident waiting to happen when he has the ball at his feet - nearly gave away a goal in the first half and sold Lobban a hospital pass in the second. Agree about Cameron and Palaversa and you could add in Armstrong.

  12. We paid Aberdeen prices for bottom 6 players. Recruitment team really let us down. I think the effort was there but some of them are just not Aberdeen quality

  13. Yep - the league doesn’t lie. They are a better team than us currently. Another damning indictment of the football operation of recent times…

  14. Well, if phase one involves making us harder to beat, then that was achieved today. Soft centre exposed YET AGAIN though. Molloy wasn’t bad overall, but that goal showed why he just won’t do - he’s just not big, strong or physical enough to be a centre half in this league. Geiger’s best performance, energetic, got about the park, moved the ball well. Mitov was better, as was Morrison. Well done Nisbet for the goal, forced that out of nothing. A mistake like that was always likely to be the only way we’d score as we created little again. Cameron & Palaversa were honking when they came on mind, didn’t help at all. Draw probs fair, we’re just not a good team. Shithouse it until the end of the season, stay up, then clear out the squad and start again - again…

  15. A point closer to safety which is better than this team deserve. Not one of our central defenders today should be a first choice pick. Ever.

  19. That’s the thing though, nobody knew or cared. It’s an issue created out of nothing & transgender people were collateral. Their lives weren't hard enough apparently Now we have the ridiculous position where grown men are pretending they care about women’s weightlifting events

  20. I’d agree with that, but I want to stress that I’m not looking for anything. If people ask me a direct question I usually answer. There’s nothing here that I haven’t heard before. It’s just sad that people are narrow minded and cannot accept difference. It gets personal when people don’t have the capacity to think deeper so just spout the same generic shit Ive heard a million times then get personal. And ironically these are the people who scream diversity. It’s very similar to the way California went, where the majority are incredibly intolerant, you lost friendships, fights, cancel culture, all from a side who rams difference down your throat. It’s also interesting the blatant lies stated ( in my opinion of course) like vaccines not having a downside. Every single one does, every one has a side effect, you just chose to either ignore those or weigh up the pros and cons. what some people here don’t seem to realize is that of the 70 plus million that voted trump, many are not trump supporters or even republicans, I’d say that’s me. We just fear the dem party more than this one, and we’ve had Obama and Biden show what that’s about. And lived in Cali to see how that goes. I’d challenge those who can’t let trump go to look into why people cannot accept the alternative. Cue the racism and abuse, the generic response, but it’s deeper than that.

  21. A fair few St Mirren fans have been moaning about that, saying it's obviously destabilised their dressing room since January as well as affecting Robinson. Saying we didn't want to pay the compensation. Unless they have inside knowledge it's pure speculation but possible. Could just as easily been the case that Robinson had no clue we were going to come in for him as we were publicly speaking to Lutz's preferred choices.

  24. Having mulled this over and looking at some of the clues; - we triggered a clause to be able to speak to him - he mentioned he knows Lutz well and we know Burrows link - Lutz assertion that we need someone who knows the Scottish game Could it be that we have been doing this dance with SR for a few months as first option and the other candidates have been courted because we didn’t want to spend whatever the ‘clause’ demands? Could explain why St Mirren have been absolute dugshit for months if his head was gone. Just a theory.

  25. To each their own, live your life and try to be happy. My sister died of cancer 4 years ago, we were close, a big factor in me moving and making certain decisions, and a big influence on how I now live my life today. She lived in Manchester and always wanted to move to north berwick. My grandparents retired there and we spent a lot of great times there as kids. But my sister waited too long, got cancer, had her doctors and treatment, and basically couldn’t move. We talked about that days before she died and how you just have to live life and take risks, do what’s best for your family because circumstances can change, dont wait. Be an ‘I can’ versus ‘I can’t.’ And there are plenty of circumstances you cannot change that keep that in mind. That was a big factor in my wife and I doing what we did and starting life all over again in Florida. Plenty of people thought (and think) we were/are nuts and heavily judged us, but my family are happy and that’s all that matters to us. LA is an extreme culture, I can’t fully relate to you guys in Britain as I ultimately haven’t lived there in 30 years, but I was in a situation getting shittier by the day and did something about it. I actually respect those who left the US because of trump. You can only control your own situation. No clue what it’s like at home, visiting doesn’t count, that’s a holiday romance versus a legit relationship, so I can’t judge any of you. I also lived in such extreme judgement and that if you are not with us you are 100% against, feel that a little bit here. similar but different, I gave Thelin more time than most, still support cormack, support lutz, and am now totally on board with Robinson. Life’s too short to be upset. Not my choice but here’s here, and excited for tomorrow. Also quite enjoyed some of the things he’s said and maybe our solution was staring us in the face from day one. I’m a glass is half full guy, onwards and upwards.

  26. Fuck me, that's a hell of a ride and I'm glad you've found yourself in place that works a lot better for you. An example of why I am not too quick to judge based on limited information (especially where politics is involved) - our lives all throw up vastly different experiences from similar start points and lead to the different ways we all think. As a great man once told me, "as long someone isn't being a cunt to others, respect their right to believe what they believe and go about their life in their way". I draw the line at Trump, Farage, (nearly all) Huns and people masquerading as Bukta Bertie and any future names he pops up with!

  27. Multiple factors, not sure if you are genuinely asking or poking the bear and looking for another argument. But i think it’s worth sharing my experience as I don’t think many of you really get what it’s living like here. It was getting so expensive in California. I was a teacher/administrator for 20 plus years, so not earning a ton of money. But enough. Budget just got tighter and tighter. Paycheck to paycheck. Started a family and when you are living in a condo complex (flats), and being California, our complex had pools. We started having the homeless bathing in the pools and washing clothes, peeping and shitting in the park, you’d find needles around, plus one of my kids fell in a homeless tent in the side walk while we were out for a bike ride. Crack smokers inside wanting a fight. The streets in the San Fernando valley/sherman oaks where I lived were starting to become lined with homeless tents and breaking bad RVs. Open propane tanks on the street, RVs hot wired to street lights. I was paying a fortune for a mortgage and a ton in property taxes and we felt it was becoming increasingly unsafe, especially at night and early morning walking our dogs…and we lived in sherman oaks, the town directly north of Beverly Hills and bel air. Local politics allowed all this. If you know California, or visit, go and see Venice beach and the surrounding area. Over run with tents and homeless, unsanitary and dirty, yet amongst multimillion dollar houses. At least it was when I left and my friends tell me it’s worse now. Private school is liberal and political. I was always a democrat but things changed. I felt I was always middle of the road but the left became more left and my middle became middle right. Our school was aDEI school and it became political every single day. So much trump derangement daily in the faculty lounge, including grief councilors when he won in 2016. we were asked beliefs, told what to believe, and told what professions development to attend. No real freedom or choice to follow interests. I felt it became indoctrination instead of education. You couldn’t speak openly, freely, or express an opinion without fear of offending someone and consequence. I saw explosive confrontations in faculty meetings, nearly broke into fights a few times, and watched people fired for having an opinion that I felt was in no way inappropriate, just different and not the agenda, like gender spectrum and someone saying they believed in two genders as they and their religion believed. Everything was hyper sensitive and feelings, and it was highly toxic. as you know, breaking point was Covid and losing my job. Couldn’t stay as covid vax became mandatory for kids at school, so my kids couldn’t go to school. Had to find a state that wasn’t like Cali, most blue ran states required the covid vax to go to school, Florida did not. I’d lived in Florida from 2002-2009, so had familiarity. It’s affordable. Plus we love beach and warm weather. We were extremely lucky to sell a house in LA that allowed us to buy a great house in affordable Florida for cash, have space and land, and had one year of money to live without spending our savings and time for my wife and I to find jobs. It was a no brainer. Politics doesn’t dominate the daily convo here, obviously a big factor is not working in education, and more people here just seem to try to get along, try to be positive, and live life with a more positive attitude. That’s my experience here anyway. America is the land of opportunity. It was a great place that allowed you to work hard and excel, or certainly was as it’s a shit show now. feel like Cali and other states have lost plot, with significant over reach. My experience in Florida leaves you alone to live life and I really don’t pay much attention to politics any more .it cost me friendships, and witness fights where people just can’t get along. I’m not a trump fan but felt voting republican was more sane than voting democrat, said that here a few times. I’d witnessed that leadership first hand under Obama and felt the country declined, the obviously saw the decline in California. I feel Florida allows a safe and affordable upbringing for my ‘normal’ kids, there’s a ton to do, and sadly we see Mickey regularly. Obviously what’s happening now is not what was voted for, and as I have said before, it’s a two party system, no third party middle ground.

  29. As I said earlier, welcome to the club Stephen and I really do hope you go on to do great things with us and for us. You have the opportunity here to go on and be club legend so ah the very best min. The more I look at this and think about the last few months then there is just know way our resident wage thief and penguin snatcher had any input in this appointment whatsoever (my opinion) I think he has been overruled by Burrows who has "pulled rank" and told Cormack enough is fkn enough. And there is also a previous connection between Robinson and Burrows. I might be over thinking this and over egging the omelet sort of speak but I just have a gut feeling the Lutz will be away before the end of the season (well I fukin hope he is anyway) His contact book from all over the world hasn't really lived up to its hype and the boy himself is quite probably the dummest appointment Cormack has ever made. Anyway Back on topic - Stephen Robinson (our new gaffer) let's do this min get after it and make it fukin happen. Ah the best

  32. If it was horneland or another foreigner, Aberdeen is just another random job. And questions would be asked, comments made etc. Robinson knows the club, the size of the club, and truly feels this is a step up, a one he deserves. He rightly says we are a big club with history, and means it. I think we’ve got a very motivated guy, eager to have us punch above our weight too.

  33. I do wonder if Emir Bajrami was the one who lit the fire under players arses in the Thelin regime. Robinson has spoken really well so far but he's been good with a mic under his nose every time I've ever heard him. It is nice to have a manager I actually want to listen to again though. Leven clearly hates doing press, Thelin was ok to a point but still pretty bland, Goodwin was solid enough, Glass a bit meh. McInness was excellent though and I would put Robinson in that category. All that said you can't fake enthusiasm and he's clearly delighted to be here which I must admit does lift the spirits a bit. Overall I'm defo feeling a bit better than I did yesterday morning when the news dropped though still remain sceptical this is going to be the right choice long term.

  34. I will say this, Robinson seems well happy to join us. a step up to a top Scottish club despite the current situation. As he says, two phases, firstly stability this year and ‘survive,’ then summer and beyond. He’s certainly motivated to do well and knows exactly what he’s in for. I also like that he’s got obvious passion/fire, always felt Thelin was too nice and passive. I feel a coach needs that side to him, obviously has to be used smartly too.
