Agree the lack of strength in the LP is pretty damning. Suspect there is a pretty short list of candidates who want to throw themselves on the hand grenade at this point. Rayner is most ‘likeable’ and in normal circumstances would be most likely to appeal to the public but as someone said, our right wing media would have her in the woodchipper within weeks for walking on the cracks in the pavement while Nigel grifts his way up the polls. Feels like there is a sense of inevitability about Reform at this point. It’s a bit like Jambos winning title for me. Two historically dominant powers have an existential crisis and an odious, wanna be serious one emerges to threaten the status quo and it’s not the one I want3 points

Geiger had some nice touches, and was unlucky with the free-kick that led to the second goal considering he had won the ball. But Shinnie is a better player than him - even at 34. I'd keep Lobban, Frame, Nisbet, and wouldn't really be arsed about the rest.2 points

Seems like the type of player that was worth ago but hasn’t worked out, so cutting ties after a season seems fair enough.2 points

He likes The Smiths so we already know he’s a man of taste and good judgment. Id prefer it if the Labour Party just died though2 points

Replacing Starmer with Streeting would be absolutely fucking mental. Wes is the only person in the party more unpopular than him So that’s what they’ll do2 points
-
Fucking messianic Andy Burnham, eh? Is that what things have come to? Jesus Christ. It's a real wonder that voter turnout is so low.2 points
-
Problem is the ambitions of the likes of Rayner, Streeting and Milliband will block any route for Burnham. Personal career progression and ego will, yet again hamper the party from doing what’s right and more importantly best for their chances of staying in govt next GE.2 points

Ah've already posted on Abmad .... but Ah'll stick it doon here ... On May 11 1983 Ah wis at the 'Techy College' on a non certificate Electronics college course (night classes) .... tae up ma future employment prospects. There Ah wiz .... solderin' up a fkn basic square wave oscillator ..... somethin Ah can jist aboot dae in ma sleep! .... The guy tae ma left had a funcy watch ... it's 1983! .... so nae a smart watch! ... but it gets radio via an ear-piece! .... holy fuck! ... modern technology or fit?? He announces we're 1-0 up .... Yass! He later announces it's 1-1 ... Ach weel, 'at;s 'at ... we're surely fucked. And so the college course winds up, Ah get the bus hame ... or at least tae ma girlfriends hoose ..... Ah ask her (politely) tae get the telly on ( actually it was already on but needed the channel changed ) ..... and there it is! The fkn Dons hae won the fkn European fkn Cup fkn Winners fkn Cup!!!l Masel an' said girlfriend 'generally' shagged every night an' every mornin .... but .... Ah had some good stash o' McEwans Export an' some home brew set aside for the celebration (or the sorrow-drown).... so ... nae bed-time shag, nae pre-breakfast shag ... Therefore my evaluation o' the The Dons CWC victory is hereby estimated as better than 2 shags!! ...... better than 2 simultaneous shags even Ah .... fond memories fae hame2 points

Well the normal service that has been 95% of this season well and truly returned there. Dreadful. That first half was the dictionary definition of a meaningless end of season game, every single one of them just going through the motions and then giving away yet another dreadful goal by just completely switching off. The Midfield 3 never got a hold of that game at all. Geiger was poor for him Aremu not great and can we please just get rid of Palaversa now, that boy offers absolutely nothing. Bit brighter for about 20 mins at the start of the second half, but it didn’t last and then another poor goal conceded. None of the defence could cope with Mandron. They are just not built for this league, any of them. Gyamfi gets injured again. Absolutely no use to us that. Olusanya busy again, but misses yet another one on one because he can’t play football. Seriously we have to be able to get better than that. At least that doesn’t continue any chance of anyone being fooled into thinking that this team doesn’t need completely dismantled and rebuilt, they were, are and always will be a poor, poor side. Not one of them did anything to convince anyone they should stay, no bad thing IMO. One game to go, thank fuck…1 point

Nicky Devlin: Cup winner, good to have around the place, experienced etc. But back again and being caught out of position and not having the pace to recover. He's one we need to improve on.1 point

Red TV has given up the ghost Kind of wish it was my only option to watch it and I wouldn't vhave wasted 45 minutes of my life I am never getting back1 point

I still haven't decided on Palaversa's best position. (At home in his hoose maybe)1 point

Shamal George apparently being released by Wycombe. Will be very surprised if he doesn’t end up here.1 point

You’ve given the lad the kiss of death there. Replaced by Frame before kick off.1 point

Would have liked to have seen Lobban and Frame getting minutes. Probably good to get Gyamfi more settled too, always forget he’s a youngster.1 point

Doesn't feel like much of a loss. Will always remember his berba moment fondly but other than that all he seemed to want to do was to get physical with defenders.1 point
-
No loss really. Offers nothing. Has no pace, can't hold the ball up, can't score goals (not many of them, four all season), isn't hard to defend against, doesn't create anything. At 22, potentially there was still something there to work with, but we would have been better off sticking with Sokler.1 point

Anyone else got one of these? I decided on 7 May 1983 that my then current shirt was getting threadbare, and headed for Simpsons Sports for a replacement for the trip. “We’ve got a box of new eens just in,” quoth the quine in the shop, “Wid ye like een o them?” A rarity, apparently, the only difference from the sark worn by the Dons squad on the night is that the embroidered occasion is a neat straight line rather than the shape of ex-Maroon Rougvie’s angelic smile. The mini-replica ECWC is a Dolly Digital commemorative artefact. We’re having a clear-out currently, and I may put it on the market, but very unwillingly.1 point

True, but Labour need someone and it ain't Streeting or Rayner and it sure as fuck isn't Starmer. Reform in power 2029, isn't appealing.1 point

They’re no better than Tories with all this pish. A mix of personal egos and paying too much attention to the media has led to this when they should be getting on with fixing the mess they inherited. It’s amateur dramatics as Tom Watson said this week. If it’s Rayner (and I don’t mind her) she will be absolutely hounded out by the media. She’ll be crucified. Streeting would be dreadful, far worse than Starmer. Burnham ain’t an MP and they’d have to find a VERY safe seat for him to stand in.1 point

They changed the international subscription this season so that minimum term is 12 months. Once you’re subscribed, you’re locked in - even if you pay monthly. You can turn off auto renewal though in the “Manage Subscription” section.1 point

Went to see Tame Impala at Hydro last night. Cracking show. Saw them 15years ago at a small venue in Edinburgh when they were just a guitar based indie band. They’ve come a long way to a packed Hydro last night.1 point

He’s a likeable guy. I also like his emotion, certainly gets into games. At the same time, I don’t feel we’ve just been huff and puff win at all costs regardless of play. Really curious to see what we do the last two games, the type of players we sign, and how we start next season. Wonder if there’s more to him than we thought.1 point

I’m trying to put a positive spin on it. There is no way all those voted in yesterday will actually want to do the work & theres no way the company could’ve properly vetted all those standing. All those racist Facebook mums and former Combat 18 members will not want to fix potholes. Hanging out of Trumps arse might be a poor look in the not too distant future as well.1 point

I think Mitov is decent and has benefitted by us having stopped the fannying about at the back. I'd stick with him, unless he is looking to move, as always get the fear with our keeper signing record and our recruitment team doesn't inspire me with confidence. Folk saying we would get £2 million for him, not a chance we get anything like that.1 point

That's all very good, in theory, but the reality was that every time we tried to replace Langfield and Mackie, the replacements ended up being significantly worse. Some of the atrocious goalies we got in to replace Langfield especially. Olusanya is a much worse footballer than Mackie was too, as is Yengi, Ambrose and many others. Mackie actually made intelligent runs, watched his striking partner and made space for them. He knew how to play fitba, he just wasn't very good at the bits involving the ball. Olusanya basically gets ordered around by Nisbet and plays on the shoulder as instructed by the manager. The problem that we've got, is that we've got Darren Mackies all over the pitch that need replacing, so we're going to have to be a bit pragmatic and take in guys that aren't good enough for the long term and give them simple instructions with limited scope. Something Steve Clarke was excellent at with Killie. Robinson's style of fitba can easily cope with a player like Olusanya and utilise him effectively as a bit part. Get a proper replacement once we've sorted out defence, midfield and wingers.1 point

Yep - the club was all over the shop on the McGrath one. Seemed a strange decision full stop, given he’d been pretty good overall in his 2 years, but then made zero sense at all once they gave Nilssen a 3 year deal. Looked even worse when the replacements never delivered either unsurprisingly…1 point

Regurgitation of the story I highlighted on 17th April or is it actually happening. Imagine signing a player of this age when we refused to give McGrath the fourth year that would have taken him through to this age1 point

Roughly 2 minutes after this season ends, I’ll have no idea who most of these players are and couldn’t pick them out a line up. Are Bilalovic, Milanovic and Lazetic really three different people? They’ve all just morphed into the same blob of shite to me1 point
