  1. On this day in 1983, Miller and McLeish won the Scottish Cup after a disgrace of a performance.

  2. It would be quite challenging for me to walk about with that in my head all day, so here’s some reasons to be cheerful. Solar & wind power are green but now they’re also cheap. There’s a strong economic argument to switch to them which as we all know, trumps the green argument every day. Win win. The blades and gearboxes on these things have a shelf life of 30 years. Who knows what developments happen within that timescale? Energy storage is diversifying quickly and for northern hemisphere countries, thermal storage in particular is looking peachy. There’s huge advancements in bio plastics, recycling waste (including no petroleum based food for all those cattle nobody needs to eat). Nuclear power already solves a lot of carbon problems and is getting smaller/more efficient The grid (which is my line of work) is getting upgraded across the globe making everything more efficient. I can think of some teuchters and English retirees are going to be in for one hell of a shock up north soon Most of all though, most people are all for it. Transitioning away from fossil fuels is something everyone can get on board with. The will is there already. Apart from all this ‘drill baby drill’ baby balled sad sacks of course Smile, it might not happen

  3. As above, both Kerr and Mayo have been targets of Aberdeen long before Robinson arrived. I'm pretty sure over the next three and a half months Lutz will target players he knows and who have a more impressive CV, much like he did in January. Of course your ex-Hoffenheim, AC Milan, Bologna, Man City and Bayern Munich players we all signed didn't exactly lift the place. Some players who have proved themselves at Premiership level ain't a bad thing. Hearts' - with their famous Jamestown analytics and boasts they'll be challenging for the title again - have signed one player so far; a winger from St Johnstone.

  4. Can't wait for pre season in Holland with all these ex Killie players. Will need to be stoned out my head for the Twente Enschede game.

  6. The league would be better with both teams in it. It needs expanded Stewart Milne really really fucked the whole country over

  7. Just to add, this was the poster that was used on the streets of Gothenburg to advertise the game to the Swedes. Amazing it got back here in one piece. I know a couple of others that made it back, and the Heritage Trust has one. Always thought it was shame the teams are not mentioned on it. Never got round to framing it, and at my age, I guess I never will now, so it will have to be moved on to someone who would appreciate it soon.

  8. Can’t stand lol the Messi hype but he is a great player. Although I most of the game vs Columbus crew in Cleveland last year yelling at him that he was a has been.

  12. Story doing the rounds that Hearts participation in European football next season could be in doubt owing to Bloom's involvement with them, Brighton and the Belgians. I say, kick the bastards while they're down

  13. Motherwell could be about Toulouse their manager to a French club.

  15. Could be the loon isn't interested in coming to us. We're not exactly a great proposition for players trying to further their careers.

  16. I was more thinking we will struggle to hold on to Robinson when City come calling.

  17. Anyone else got one of these? I decided on 7 May 1983 that my then current shirt was getting threadbare, and headed for Simpsons Sports for a replacement for the trip. “We’ve got a box of new eens just in,” quoth the quine in the shop, “Wid ye like een o them?” A rarity, apparently, the only difference from the sark worn by the Dons squad on the night is that the embroidered occasion is a neat straight line rather than the shape of ex-Maroon Rougvie’s angelic smile. The mini-replica ECWC is a Dolly Digital commemorative artefact. We’re having a clear-out currently, and I may put it on the market, but very unwillingly.

  19. On this day in 1984, Stewart McKimmie scored his first Aberdeen goal, in a 1-0 win, down at Tynecastle, which saw us clinch the league title. It would have been Willie Millers 29th Birthday too, with the great man turning 71 years young today. Happy Birthday Willie.

  20. I had the programme. Ticket stub, boarding pass and book of matches from the St. Clair and a whole lot of other 'merch' and memorabilia. On my mother's passing I cleared my parent's house to discover it had all been turfed. Yet the cupboards contained tins of peaches older than me and a shoebox of pre decimal currency and premium bonds. My old man did loan me the money for the trip but I don't think he told my ma!
