There were (some) good times and (many) bad times under Milne's stewardship. Id like to see Topi get a shot at playing in a different team that potentially suited his skills. As has been said he was driven into the ground that first season and then asked to play in various unfamiliar roles in a team lacking in any confidence. He really hasn’t had a chance. There have been games where he showed some real ability so Im not fully convinced he should be junked just yet. There is a danger that in scrapping the whole lot of them, we disrupt the squad significantly, replacing good footballers with mid-table Prem journeymen just because we crave stability. Someone, somewhere on the pitch is gonna need to be a baller.

100% this and more. I have no liking for Celtic and they have inflicted much pain on us on the pitch in recent decades. Their fanbase are total dicks, their holier than thou/victim mentality is hugely irritating and their sense of entitlement has grown to levels that are hard to listen to but they don’t even scratch the surface of the rancid bile and putrid behaviour of those c**ts. Maybe it’s because I’m married to an Irish Catholic but I find Hibs and Celtic fans just that little bit more bearable as individual humans in a way that Huns and Jambos just don’t seem to be able to do. Same here, just don't want the rat back. We are better than that. As for our next goal scoring "hero" there is a fair chance that he is already in the building in the shape of Kevin Nesbit. We just need to give him proper service and he will deliver. He has already shown that on the the odd occasion he has had proper service he is more than capable of hitting the back of the net. Yeah, bit of a blow but if everyone is fit I don’t think he starts. Fletcher looked very assured but I don’t think he’s earned it, and Clarke is a loyalty guy….to an extent. I’d expect Lennon miller to be brought in, none others have been consistent squad players so loyalty is limited, but fletcher is brand new and barely played first team football, I think miller has the stones and was the one who raided a few eyes missing out. Christie, Ferguson, even mctom can all play holding mid if needed.

Dear old Dons Daft would be going apoplectic at this use of various tenses of the verb (or gerund) 'loan' being applied to the receiver, rather than correctly using the verb 'borrow'. That said, he was rather prone to losing his shit when it was also being applied as a noun - in which case loan was (and is) a perfectly acceptable term when speaking about givers and receviers. Right, so I'm going to to get pelters for this, but the other day in my Amazon feed I saw the Duncan Ferguson autobiography in ebook format for 99p. Thought what the fuck, why not, if nothing else it might give me even more reason to dislike the Big Hun. Turns out it is a really good read with only really one chapter (not very long) about his time playing for them. Amusing anecdotes about his time starting out at The Arabs including tales of how some weeks he owed the club money such was the level of fines Wee McLean was hitting him with. Huge focus on his time in Barlinnie that was an interesting read. His passion for Everton FC really knows no boundaries and it turns out he is a really generous type of guy. Actually one of the better footballer's autobiographies I've read and certainly worth less than a pound

Apparently he could ‘no longer stay silent’ and has written a 5000 word essay on what’s going wrong with the Labour government. His analysis was actually pretty spot on but his ideas are not so. His blend of market economics and social provision seems to have shifted a little further towards a Reagonomics/Thatcher-lite approach and his foreign policy ideas of do whatever US say is frankly mental. He is still sounding like he is seeking validation or justification for his stance on Iraq, all these years later. If you can’t be arsed reading the essay there is a decent interview with The News Agents pod but it’s pretty much a bend over and let the market and the US ride you senseless kinda deal.
