OrlandoDon
Sounds like two very professional players in mayo and lyons, both leaders and standard setters. Every team needs balance, skill, flair, muscle etc, these guys both bring qualities we sadly lack. No judgement from me until the summer signings are complete and we see a more realistic picture of what we expect from them. He proved he can have a positive impact on our team, certainly contributed more than yengi Ambrose and lazetic. Reminds me of Darren mackie, different type of player obviously, but has his limitations yet will provide value to a squad. Don’t want him as a starting player, I don’t see him as good enough, we certainly need a new legit 9 to compete with nisbet. But for those who don’t rate him, he’s already shown us that he has something to offer, can have an impact, and having signed Ambrose yengi and lazetic, we could certainly do better but also do a lot worse. we certainly need to offload those three. After the amount of cash that the Swedish neep wasted on transfers then it is no surprise that these are the sort of signings that Robinson has no choice but to go after. lets get behind him and support them all and see what happens. way too early for negativity SF Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10798-summer-2026-transfer-window/page/17/#findComment-284779

Flike, imo it's all about expectations vs reality, i'm old enough to remember getting to Gothenburg in 83 and thinking "ach it's ok, i'll go next year" Robinson is who we've got, negativity will do us no good, we have to get behind him and who ever he plays and hope it gets us good results. OrlandoDon
Scott Burns linking us with Connor Ronan. Recall we were interested in both him and McGrath when they were both at st mirren, and eventually got McGrath, while Ronan went to MLS. Ronan did play for Robinson, so they have a connection. Slim
I seem to remember him being quite exciting and us being in the running to sign him before Wolves giving him a chance to break into their team. Panda
We're fairly stocking up on the defensive players. Also enjoying how early we appear to be getting these players. Last season, we got to the middle of August having only signed five players - Ronan could be our fourth before we even get to June. But I suppose we need to remember we have competitive games starting July 11 so there is an urgency. Ronan would bring balance to the signings to date, strength and now some flair, but the tougher signings will be two wingers and a 9. Plus a keeper? im equally eager to see players leaving. 1 Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10798-summer-2026-transfer-window/page/17/#findComment-284804
tlg1903
Just had a wee look at Ronans stats there. What's interesting to me, especially given the perception some have about Robinsons style of play being a bit hoofball, is that his time at St Mirren was by a mile his most productive from an attacking sense. Was fond of a worldie from outside the box if memory serves too so I would be quite open to signing Ronan 2bh. 1 Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10798-summer-2026-transfer-window/page/17/#findComment-284862

Brochred Posted Sunday at 21:34 Report Share Posted Sunday at 21:34 4 hours ago, Kowalski said: One of our most disappointing signings in recent memory (and there’s been a few!). Completely agree. For a decent amount of hype, he turned out to be like playing with a man down, the only time he didn't give the ball away is when he passed it back to the full back. It maybe wasn't his fault but he nearly always played on the right and couldn't beat his man on the outside so mostly came into the pitch where he either lost the ball or it went backward, slowing down any attack. always had to use his left foot. He also was terrible at tracking back, in that game against Dunfermline their left back had the whole pitch to himself, Milanovic just let him wander past him and stick crosses in thebox. Unforgiveable. Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10798-summer-2026-transfer-window/page/17/#findComment-284880
Panda Posted Monday at 00:55 Report Share Posted Monday at 00:55 Probably not a realistic signing - rumours are quite a few clubs are already circling - but Robbie Ure is banging the goals in for Sirius in Sweden. Seven goals in 10 games this season. Eleven in his debut season last year. Only 22, Scottish, was released a few years ago by Rangers.
