Netflix - Hunters.

As expected from a Hollywood production it tends towards glorifying the Jews.

Decent enough though if you ignore the propaganda and just take it for what it is. A detective series.

Recommended.

Watched the first series and loved it, but yes, given recent events it does tarnish it considerably.

Small Prophets

Latest comedy/drama from Mackenzie Crook, who did the brilliant The Detectorists.

In one word...Genius

Available to watch on the iPlayer and worth the license fee alone.

Just watched this and agree 100%.

I suspect people who like this might also like Leonard And Hungry Paul, a very gentle comedy on iPlayer.

Ultras

Three part documentary on the iplayer, about the Scottisj football Ultras.

Not a bad programme to be fair, although I'll never understand the videos and YouTube 'personalities', I'm likely not meant to though.

We had two 'academic' types representing both sides of the cheeks, with the hun doing an audition for the Colin Compton role for a potential reboot of the Wheeltappers and Shunters Club. (One for the kids!)

An Aberdeen fan speaking about getting himself in the shit for buying and taking pyro into Hampden last May.

Cost him £7k in legal fees.

May interest those of us of a certain vintage, but the TV series This Life, is 30 years old this month.

Was must watch TV back in the day and even though Andrew Lincoln is a big TV star now, he will always be 'Egg'.

The full series is up on the iPlayer and I think it needs another viewing.

Louis Theroux in the Manosphere. Fuck me, how have these people been allowed a platform!

Quite sure a mate of mine worked on that. Remember him describing it to me in the pub when I was over last July. Not sure looking forward to seeing it is the right descriptor but no doubt it’s created a lot of talking points.

we’re just watching the final handmaids tale. Forgot about the last series but think we needed a break for a while, was a bit too close to trumpian reality.

Maybe a bit left field and apologies if already been done but How to with John Wilson is an interesting watch. If you are into visual art, symbolism and slow paced humour it’s a quirky series worth a view. Guy in New York who’s basically catalogued the entire city in photos and short videos and tells stories about it with themes.

Was the book a good read? I don’t mind reading things after watching them, providing they’re better of course!

I enjoyed it but I’ve read a lot of Margaret Atwood’s stuff and enjoy her style. It’s different from a conventional book so if you’re open to that she writes beautifully. Her style is quite economical  so can feel quite sparse in language and imagery and she is usually quite non-linear so events get a little garbled. If you’ve read Handmaids Tale, that almost diary format with short ‘events’ is quite similar.

The Oryx & Crake series is a brilliant read but then as someone who has read pretty much every post-apocalyptic novel there is, I’m bias.

I don't usually subscribe to any streaming services but so much quality on HBO Max made me wanna give it a try.

If you are looking for a service to subscribe to for a month so you can binge watch a load of stuff then cancel, you wont get much better than The Sopranos, Band of Brothers, The Wire, White Lotus, GoT, Chernobyl etc etc..... and comedy wise you have Curb Your Enthusiasm and Veep for starters.

Couple decent films up there too if that's your jam.

We got a freebie on this for 3 months. Seems decent. Just finished first series of The Pitt. Was excellent.

Third series of The Capture on BBC1 Sunday nights is tremendous escapism.

We’ve managed to get through 3 episodes so far, with the 4th due on Sunday I think. Love this series so far, has had an interesting development that I hadn’t quite expected.

the Pitt, is it not an American hospital drama?
