Who wants that clown as PM? Not sure he’d win in a leadership contest.

It's got to be Burnham They need to get him back into Westminster and have a proper challenge from someone people will get behind, and who can (arguably) do a decent job. Any leadership challenge before then - Streeting or any of the current lot - is just folly.

I have been a lifelong labour supporter (with tactical voting to keep the right out depending where I may be residing at the time), but have been becoming increasingly disappointed with their efforts over the last god know how long (edit: since they put the wrong Milliband in charge I reckon). Keir has been a real let down when if he had some balls he could have made some real change to benefit everyone.

I think (deep down) he has decent intentions, but just can't cut it and is trying to please too many people - resulting in doing nothing to please anyone. I don't think he's a cunt like many people like to shout. He's just incapable of doing anything with the absolute shit show he inherited.

I would vote green if there was an election tomorrow. That said, where I live had been tory for over 100 years and went Lib Dem in the last election, so maybe I would keep going that way to do my bit to keep torries or reform out.

As an aside - I have a friend who does not own a TV and avoids news at all costs. She had heard Starmers name on the radio and was vaguely aware of him. She was amazed when she saw a picture of him. She thought he was an Indian fella called Sakir Stama. I totally believe that - she is one of these highly intelligent, yet incredibly stupid folks.

The same Labour group that planted Starmer in the first place. They can’t seem to accept that not only are they wrong but the whole country hates them

Streeting has the same Mandelson problem, ball deep in private medical care, a wafer thin majority, thoroughly unlikeable and just looks like an odious wee snivelling cunt

If he gets the gig, he’ll be the last ever Labour leader. Which I suppose is the whole point

Fair play still voting Labour now. 1997 was the last time for me.

I do still hope they go back to the class of 1946, but never, ever happening.

I agree with Mason, in that they would be better off killing the Labour Party, as it isn't a party of the working people anymore.

Although I don't vote Labour, I too believe that Burnham would give them the leadership that is badly lacking.

The world might be going to shyte, but someone competent at the tiller would be a start.

I don't have sympathy for Starmer. Was complicit in what happened with Corbyn.

What does that look like? Imagine the very real scenario in a few months time where we're being asked to ration fuel. When shelves are emptying and you're trying to get people to stop panic buying. Key medicines are in short supply, but wealthy people appear to be skipping the queue. How can anyone be described as competent in that scenario? Is it possible to be competent in a system which isn't? If all you can do is work within that system, with the goal of saving it.

What if you imagine the very real scenario that that doesn’t happen?

I didn't imagine it, I was asking @TheDonbytheDee to imagine it! He suggested that the world was going to shite, I simply provided an example of how that might come to pass. Otherwise the scenario in which having a competent person at the tiller may or may not matter (I'd suggest not) will not arise, and so makes no odds.

Do you think that the Hormuz problem will correct itself, and in what timescale? If not, what impact do you think that the global economy will face with 10-15% of its critical oil supply missing (once reserves dry up), and Europe's stores of natural gas unable to be filled for winter?

Whatever happens, we need a better quality of liar at the top of Government.

It's how they sell the lies that would be key.

For me, Burnham appeases the people more than Starmer ever could.

I suspect, Starmer speaking to the nation about rationing, could cause a civil war.

Maybe we just need a more stupid populace?

Think Wes is going to learn a lot about himself over the next few days and it’s going to come as a complete shock to him

He really is.

I reckon something about him will be leaked and finish him.

Looks the type to have something very shady in his past.

Wouldn't be surprised if links to Mandelson surface.
