BigAl
Going back to the merits of Harvey Barnes for Scotland merits and debate, I have a feeling that it is all going to become a little bit irrelevant anyway. He is in the form of his life and I wouldn't be surprised to see England call him up Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/8224-scotland-squad/page/122/#findComment-276576

He would be a national hero Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/8224-scotland-squad/page/122/#findComment-276629

I thought I read somewhere we were 'hosting' them, and assumed the (A) next to their name was denoting that they were the away team. I shall research more before releasing my ire in future Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/8224-scotland-squad/page/122/#findComment-277026
swaddon
I didn't know that overseas teams were still playing "home" friendlies in Europe. I mind a few years ago Scotland played Brazil in London. I think it was at Arsenal's place. I can see why from a logistical point of view if most of their players play in Europe, but for the home supporters, it must be a ball ache to get to the games. Was at that game and it was at the Emirates. It’s money making scheme for the African and South American teams. Much like the rest of modern football the fans do not come into it. Yes I am a massive hypocrite and will be at this game as well before anyone says anything. 1 Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/8224-scotland-squad/page/122/#findComment-277029

OrlandoDon
Few injuries by the looks of things. Gordon out and Gunn not playing, hickey out, doak, mcginn, max Johnson, mctominnay has been injured, gilmour just back, shankland out, no doubt tierney will he injured, Barron has been out, Hanley been injured, Ferguson just back, plus no doubt we have players not playing regularly. Opportunity for some to make a clam, but we’ll also see how little depth we have. Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/8224-scotland-squad/page/122/#findComment-279878

Not sure that's completely fair on Clarke. We've had Devlin x 2, Considine and Mackenzie all called up. As was Bowie when he was playing for dross like Hibs. Let's not forget Brophy has a cap too. I'm assuming he wanted to look at a winger with Doak having legs made from toilet roll tubes and Curtis has a bit of form. He also usually takes a youngster along with the squads to give them experience in case they turn out to be good, which I think is a good thing. I'm guessing most other youngsters are sitting on the bench of some English second string side. Can't think of another wide player that would be better to have. Jute
Steve Clarke now saying he is open to extending his contract beyond the World Cup. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12017/13520670/scotland-steve-clarke-open-to-staying-as-head-coach-but-wants-future-decided-before-world-cup-in-usa Not sure how I feel about him being kept on. wee toon red
Until someone obviously better wants the job, Clarke can have it for life as far as I'm concerned. The Dons binned Calderwood and McInnes in the search for "better" and, while they might not have been completely the wrong decisions in isolation, I have even less faith in the SFA picking a successor to Clarke than I did in the Dons getting right. Getting to finals and being shite is a thousand times better than never getting there at all. Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/8224-scotland-squad/page/122/#findComment-281241
