There was some sort of link to a consulting company with links to Ghana if I remember correctly. Just repeating what I was told. Only discussions have been with the DOF and head of recruitment. Mate has said players have found it odd not speaking with manager as it’s what happens elsewhere. Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10500-jimmy-thelin/page/13/#findComment-275072

Aye, so it's not that he didn't know about the signings, just that he didn't speak to them during the recruitment process. Don Julio
Nothing really to add to what's been side, other than that I'd love to hear his unvarnished take at some point down the line (don't suppose we ever will). 80 games is an awful lot not to work out how to play to succeed in a league where you have more purchasing power than most of your competitors. I reckon there's a great book to be written by anyone who could get the inside scoop. Sorry to see him go, grateful for the cup and the league run early last season. Belting out "F you, Celtic, we're gonna win the league" for about 15 minutes after losing 6-0 was also a personal highlight in a stubborn, Stand Free, type of manner. Best of luck Jimmy. It wasn't to be. Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10500-jimmy-thelin/page/13/#findComment-275076

It wasn't to be. I'm sure there would be great mileage in a book detailing all the happenings amongst all managerial appointments since Dave took over the club. I don't think any writer would have to embellish the stories much either. Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10500-jimmy-thelin/page/13/#findComment-275096
swaddon
I know I'm drifting off topic here, but I did suggest once on the auld place that a book about the last 25 years of the AFC (2000 - 2025) would be an interesting, if difficult read. The glory years have been written about by many authors over the years, a book which focuses on the less good times needs to be written. 5 Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10500-jimmy-thelin/page/13/#findComment-275097

They are an absolute basket case of a club and are seriously underperforming, I really hope he doesn't take it. I want him to do wherever, but prefer it not to be in the A-League. Ajja
Can imagine fans of any club he’s linked with doing the same dance we are doing with Horneland (and several other European unknowns) ….Yeah but he won a trophy there and he had that amazing run….there’s definitely something there. Maybe he just needs a different environment etc etc Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10500-jimmy-thelin/page/13/#findComment-278620
Jute
I would say not getting the Leicester gig is dodging a bullet as they have just been docked points under financial fair play rules and likely to be having to reduce costs for the next while. Bukta Bertie
Obviously it's just hypothesising but it's perhaps worth a conversation while I wait for my supper to appear. It's my opinion that we'd be in a far better place now if we'd just kept Thelin in situ until the end of the season rather than replacing him with that hun fud Leven. Anyone in the mood to profer up their own opinion? Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10500-jimmy-thelin/page/13/#findComment-280604
