The.Moog
Apparently we’re away to sign Liam Morrison a Scottish CH from QPR. Can’t say I know the boy, but if he can actually win a defensive header he’ll do me. Also a Finnish striker is on the way too apparently. Just fit i’ve heard this afternoon, might be shite, time will tell… Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10722-january-2026-transfer-window/page/18/#findComment-276387

Rangers and Celtic as a kid, Bayern Munich 2 for 3 years which included a loan at Wigan. a striker who can finish?? We have a few that are finished. I’ll get my coat…. wee toon red
Porteous would be a great signing. Morrison must have something about him but not so clear cut. 1 Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10722-january-2026-transfer-window/page/18/#findComment-276393

Morrison is highly regarded but the odd man out at QPR, LAFC are in preseason playing early rounds of CONCACAF in Champs league, he’s not been playing, not even on the bench, no clue why. With it being a world cup year both are realistic options. manc_don
Morrison would be a good signing I think? Definitely need another CB on the books, permanently or temporarily. Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10722-january-2026-transfer-window/page/18/#findComment-276400

My only issue with Porteous has been his poor disciplinary record, at this level though he's a very good CB and whilst it a big contributor to his poor disciplinary record I do love a nasty bastard centre half. When you take into account the money we have spent in the last three transfer windows, I would strongly suggest that that is an unacceptable scenario in anyone's language So much for the apparent trading model 3 Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10722-january-2026-transfer-window/page/18/#findComment-276406

I’m no expert on emojis! neither are playing right now, but both are valued at their clubs so getting them permanently would be tough. Looks like LAFC play their first game of the season in mid Feb. Both want to make the World Cup squad so I can understand their clubs supporting them for a few months. One is odd man out, porteous doesn’t miss a ton of time for LA given their season is spring to autumn with a World Cup gap. Refer to post on match thread- loan system just allows clubs to manipulate their squads- we do the same with our youngsters (and our shite players when nobody will buy them when under contract) doesn’t matter who the loan comes from - loans are one sided without an agreement to buy ( which is another way of manipulating financial rules)- but loans from 2 teams in the same league should not be allowed Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10722-january-2026-transfer-window/page/18/#findComment-276419
