It's about overall play; if most of our shots at goal are coming from distance, then we're likely to be less efficient. If most of Motherwell's are coming due to attacking wing-play and accurate crosses then you'd expect their accuracy to be far more impressive. Of course we should be creating more chances regardless, but I don't think we need graphs and tables to tell us that. I agree its not just accuracy (Pawletts howler on Saturday comes to mind) but the positioning of players behind Vernon. I appreciate there is only one table that counts but my inner sabermetrician enjoys a table or two.
