And yes, I know this is a thead about Hearts but it was an open goal. Although thinking about it that wouldn't apply to Hearts either. An easy win? A.... tap-in....... hmmmmm. A joke. A terrible joke. There, we're back on topic. 1 Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/9-the-official-quotlets-all-laugh-at-heartsquot/page/69/#findComment-261977

Reekie_Red
I dont like Hibs. But I do enjoy it when they finish above the Jambos. They were only third biggest when Romanov fes them his crooked cash. In terms of hate, I rate them marginally below the Old Firm. That's a depressingly good appointment for them. Mcinnes did a good job for us, but he’s nothing special. He came to us when the Huns went to shit, and at a time we signed McLean Hayes mcginn, arguably three of the top players to have played in our league in a while (outside of the old firm), and a goal scorer in Rooney. He had a good squad and still only won one trophy, and that was arguably a primarily Craig brown squad. Im one of those who felt he underachieved with us and the resources he had, so I’m fine with mcinnes there, you know what you get and he’s not an overly creative mind. Don't see him accepting what they want (or he'll just blame that when it all inevitably goes tits up - hopefully after a long, drawn out struggle in the lower reaches again next season - and the season after in Championship). That said, the pair of them are made for each other Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/9-the-official-quotlets-all-laugh-at-heartsquot/page/69/#findComment-265253

That's a depressingly good appointment for them. It's an interesting appointment. Is it a good appointment, I don't know. You could argue he couldn't have timed his arrival at Aberdeen any better. Craig Brown had fixed a lot of the mess from the Mark McGhee era, Rangers, Hibs and Hearts all fell off, even Celtic weakened with Lennon then Deila. He struck gold with signings like Rooney, Logan and Shinnie, and his loans all filled the holes he needed to. He never really sorted the defence post- Russell Anderson's retirement, but midfield and attack were solid. The last three years were chronic though. Was it all his fault? Did he just get unlucky when before he had the luck? Did the lack of a head of recruitment hinder him? Did managers just figure out his tactics, with McInnes unable to have a plan B? It all begs the question, how good is Derek McInnes really? Did his last three seasons show us the truth, a man unable to turn around a club on a downward spiral, or was that unfair on account Glass and Goodwin didn't fair any better? I don't think his Kilmarnock stint answers it either. He got them fourth with a very decent squad, but has struggled this season. Although I'm sure he still has some affection for Aberdeen, he would be desperate to go and finish above Jimmy Thelin, not just once but consistently, win trophies with them, and show that in all our searching for new bosses we never found better than him. Hearts are the club that can give him that chance. I think if he goes there (and should be said, while he's on the shortlist, he's not the only name on it), it'll be fascinating. 1 Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/9-the-official-quotlets-all-laugh-at-heartsquot/page/69/#findComment-265254
