Panda
I'm ashamed to say I used to call it a chipper and allowed myself to be bullied into calling it a chippie when I moved to Glasgow. All this garbage from Aberdeen are serving up is probably my karma. You lot are just getting caught in the crossfire. King Rib supper btw for whoever is putting the order in. 1 Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10831-premiership-survival-thread/page/3/#findComment-282208
Slim
Mock chops and king ribs. We just need someone to admit to habitually ordering chip steaks and we've completed the mystery-meat holy trinity. 1 Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10831-premiership-survival-thread/page/3/#findComment-282209

Teuchters are from anywhere further north of Aberdeen than (and including) Newmachar and further west than Kingswells. Otherwise, why would the bus to Newmachar, or any bus that isnae a toon bus, be called the teuchy bus? All I will say is this. Bar about 5-6 years away in other places I've lived in the highlands since I was 5 and I've never heard a highlander call someone from the north east a Teuchter. Maybe a teuchter is relative to where you come from? So growing up in Aberdeen made us look at those country yokels as teuchters. If they bide where there are tractors they're teuchters. Maybe? 1 Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10831-premiership-survival-thread/page/3/#findComment-282216

I'd rather know your chippy/chipper order to be honest. If you're a pizza crunch supper kind of gadji, that's okay, this is a safe place to share. 2 Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10831-premiership-survival-thread/page/3/#findComment-282220

Yeah that's fair, I've heard folks from glasgow call people from perth teuchters before. The only real difference is if you're from the highlands you know there's no argument you're a teuchter 1 Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10831-premiership-survival-thread/page/3/#findComment-282221

I'm not really a big fan of chippies 2bh though there is a really solid one 2 minutes from my house. They taste good but I always feel like I've gargled oil after one. Classically I'm a fish supper kinda guy when I do fwiw. My personal recommendation for that in Scotland would be the Fochabers chip shop. Ajja
Used to hang about with a Northern Irish guy at Uni and he’d confuse the hell out of the staff in whatever Chippie we’d end up in as he called fish n chips a ‘chip supper’. No matter how many times I used to explain that he’d just get a massive portion of chips he insisted that was what it was called. Loony. 1 Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10831-premiership-survival-thread/page/3/#findComment-282224

The supper of the chipper being a fash one. Everything else being a disgusting modrin abuse of the establishment. swaddon
It is definitely a chipper. The reason is that you get your meat from a butcher, fish from a fishmonger, groceries from a grocer, so it stands to reason that you get chips from a chipper. There you go. Case closed. 3 Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10831-premiership-survival-thread/page/3/#findComment-282240
Reekie_Red
My entire body aches at the thought of us being the 2nd last club to ever be relegated out of the top flight. But I genuinely think we need a season or two lower down to cast off the charlatans, build a team of battlers, and come back into the Premiership stronger. If we survive this season, we are gonna be stuck with manybof the cunts on the field who got us here in the first place. Relegation will see many of these twats fuck off Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10831-premiership-survival-thread/page/3/#findComment-282242

This one has always bemused me. Brought up in the Broch, it has always been the chip shop, I've never used either chipper or chippie. Heard more folk say chippie but the question always was " anyone want anything from the chip shop" Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10831-premiership-survival-thread/page/3/#findComment-282247

But we would never go to the chipper to actually order a chip supper - that's just chips with chips! That's madness. Boring old fish for me - or battered sausage supper. If as many chipper suppers are consumed in the dons dressing room as we are discussing on this thread, then we are certainly destined for relegation (trying to keep it on topic!) We can get rid of anyone we want to any close season but none of them would just walk away because we got relegated so it would cost us money to be shot of them regardless of which division we were in. There is not one circumstance I can contemplate where relegation could be anything other than an embarrassing disaster. 3 Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10831-premiership-survival-thread/page/3/#findComment-282249
Don Julio
It's a chipper. I'm a teuchter. (Never even entered my head before now that someone from the highlands might also be a teuch. Don Julio
As a postscript - I think a poll on this on the club website would generate more interest than this year's goal of the season and player of the season for either of the relegation threatened teams featured. I admit I did vote, though. Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10831-premiership-survival-thread/page/3/#findComment-282253
