Deviants who use any other terminology should have their right to support the club revoked. There has to be special dispensation for fans who have never ever lived north of Edinburgh and most definitely have never been to a chipper in their life Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10831-premiership-survival-thread/page/4/#findComment-282258
GASC1980
I had a portion of Chips with curry sauce today at lunchtime. First time i've been in a weegie chipper for long enough. It cost me a fiver. What's that all about? A fiver. Think it was about 3 quid last time I went. Premiership survival - Can we get safe? Take that any day of the week over relegation. That simply does not bear thinking about. Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10831-premiership-survival-thread/page/4/#findComment-282259

The reason is that you get your meat from a butcher, fish from a fishmonger, groceries from a grocer, so it stands to reason that you get chips from a chipper. There you go. Case closed. There’s a flaw in that logic but I’d need to get all Bernard Manning about Chinese restaurants and where you get your magazines and rolls in the morning Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10831-premiership-survival-thread/page/4/#findComment-282262

For me it needs to be on the side so I can add my desired and evenly distributed quantity to each individual chip. And it needs to be tomato. 1 Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10831-premiership-survival-thread/page/4/#findComment-282281

swaddon
Stephen Robinson has had a press conference ahead of the game, having taken the assembled press to the chipper first. He says that the players are "up for the fight" and that Geiger may be available for the game, and Knoester is looking to be back for the second game after the split. I don't mind if we get narrowly beat, as long as they put up a good fight. That would bode well for the battle ahead. It's because I don't have vinegar at home, aside from red wine and balsamic types and it feels wrong for chips. I don't really put vinegar on anything at home. It's very much a chipper condiment. Blow.Up.Sheep
To Clarify A "chipper" is a club that some folks who play golf carry in their bag because they are nae very good round about the greens with using a wedge or any other traditional golf club. the monstrosity of a thing looks a bit like bladed putter but with a sloped face and is known as a "chipper" A "chippy" is a deep frying food establishment where you can order a Mock-Chop supper or anything else that tickles your fancy........... Back on topic, I still dont think our lot have the fight in them to be able to avoid finishing in 11th spot. After that we are in the hands of the gods, and our paly-off opponent is likely to be either Dunfermline (and we all know what happened there a few weeks ago) Partick Thistle (don't rate our chances agaisnt them either) or Arbroath (who we might just manage to scrape by against, but the chances of Arbroath being our play off opponents is pretty slim. Doomed I tell ya doomed Quote Link to comment https://dev.donstalk.co.uk/topic/10831-premiership-survival-thread/page/4/#findComment-282289

Did you have to ruin a perfectly good Socratic debate on the appropriate parlance with regards deep fried food? I mean it’s not like there are more serious things going on both in terms of domestic Scottish football and global politics. Everyone knows that the real Israeli beef with its middle Eastern neighbours is chippy versus chipper (Israel incorrectly landing on the side of chippy of course). Edit: the Kurds are rowie lads, with the Turks insisting on buttery. Ajja
Fairly indicative of how everyone’s feeling that a thread about premiership survival descends into a debate about fried food.
