Agreed keeper is major issue. Gordon is probably best we have and he is 41 and not playing for his club side. Bain is pish but only one playing first team football.

My big fear with Gordon is keepers do often fall of a cliff quite suddenly when they get to this age.  As experienced as he is I would probably go Bain and pray he didn't bottle it 2bh.

We all want the World Cup and two big games. But I just don’t see how we get two very good results. We’ve been piss poor of late, today is a tough one. Nothing to suggest we get a draw or a win unless we suddenly find form. We can hope but I just don’t see it. Not unlike us playing hearts at home in a week!

Aye, it's a difficult one, but certainly our best chance of qualifying. A draw here would set us up perfectly for Tuesday. 

I think we have to take the same approach as the Denmark away game, with Dykes and Adams up front, and just remaining tight across the rest of the pitch. Biggest problem with the 4-4-2 is the absolute necessity of playing McTominay. That means he slots into the midfield two and inevitably gives away cheap possession and forgets to track his man. If there's a way to have Ferguson sitting in front of the defence, in a diamond, with Christie and McGinn either side and McTominay ahead, then that's probably the best option. Don't think I'd try and work Doak into this one. Save him for the Denmark game, and play to his strengths then.

Yup, very similar approach to the Denmark game. Draw or win would be amazing, setting up a hampden finale. 
it’s just so hard being a Scotland fan, so often being the plucky loser. Hard to be optimistic, need two pretty much perfect games and really nothing suggests we’re capable of that.

Gave up any degree of optimism I ever had about the national football team many years ago.

Probably started when I witnessed us become the only team in the 1974 competition to be undefeated.

Only us could manage that and still not qualify for the knock out stage.

I would love be to be proved wrong guys but not holding my breath that I will be

Been done to death, my thoughts on Hanley, but we simply can't afford to have him on his wrong foot without the out-ball of Dykes. A moderately competent manager will see to it that Robertson is forced to play two yards away from him by pressing him on the ball. We don't even have Gilmour for a quick pass into midfield either. Make a point of watching Hanley on the ball tonight and see how he either takes a touch to get it on his right first, or plays the ten yarder to an unnecessarily deep Robertson.

For a spell after the 2014 plebiscite I stopped watching them completely. 

I've gradually weaned myself back to them.

 

Right now I find it hard to wish any good on a team containing that inbred Souttar.
